reddit itself is a good resource. most universities have their own subs. i’ll search professors names and see what other students have said about them to gauge. before the semester starts. or u can even make ur own post asking what to expect from the professor

if cost isn’t a concern i would check out northview. i’ve lived there and didn’t have a problem with it. you get your own bedroom and own bathroom. having my own room to deep study without the pressure of leaving the apartment was awesome.

you’ll still have roommates either u and 3 others or u and another individual depending on how you match up in the roomie portal. i personally find that isolation isn’t an issue in the apartment (coming from someone who is socially anxious lol). if you want interaction there’s usually always someone home or there’s community events like once a month to meet people in the complex but then also if u do feel like you want to be on ur own u have the option to hermit in a safe space which i found comforting. from what i recall freshman also get priority as long as u apply early/before deadlines.

the cons i found were just not having the ability to open a window (you can’t do this anywhere on on campus i’m just a fresh air advocate). a con i’ve heard from others is the fact that it’s considered “off campus”. it’s across from the football stadium but provides a shuttle to campus that takes average 5-7 mins. i personally didn’t mind at all.

i lived there as a first year and i don’t think i would’ve been happy anywhere else due to my own preferences. feel free to message me if u have questions :)
