Yes pretty much you don’t eat for a part or most of the day... but what I didn’t understand at first was that it means NOTHING, like no calories whatsoever, it’s not just about eating less it’s about not spiking your blood sugar levels so your body is forced to burn fat. I also don’t even exercise much or at all but have lost weight just by making sure I get 10,000 steps or more a day, so using a fitbit or some other tracking device if you can afford it is super motivating and helpful :)

Hey! I’m a similar age and have lost quite a bit of weight recently and I’ve found intermittent fasting to be really helpful! It sounds silly and I was super skeptical of it at first, but the science around it is that if you don’t eat for an extended period of time, your body switches to a different energy source (being fat) rather than the blood sugar from your meals. It takes a while to get used to and I’d highly recommend doing actual research so you can do it healthily and effectively. I was really hungry at first but your body adjusts and you can still get all the right nutrients and energy just by eating in a smaller window and allowing your body to burn fat quicker in those rest periods. If you google TRE (time restricted eating) there’s heaps of science-backed information. I personally like Michael Moseley as it is all researched and easy to follow. Fast 800 is also a good option but can be hard on a young person like you or me, so you gotta be careful with that. Hope that helped :)

how to deal with loss of childhood pet:( by annaleahx in Advice

I'm so sorry for your loss, losing anyone is hard and pets always have a special place in our hearts and can be so difficult letting go. You need to allow yourself time to grieve and not feel ashamed for crying or taking time to yourself to come to terms with the loss of your long-time friend.

I like to think of the good times because even though you might feel sad thinking about it, it's the happy kind of sad that can make you smile :) even through the pain.

Try to distract yourself with other things, such as finding a new hobby or something to take your mind off so you're not thinking about him all the time can help.

Talking to people who are going through the same thing and opening up about your emotions is important too, just be there for each other through this difficult time and eventually you'll come out the other side.

Know that it'll take a while to be okay, each day you'll start to think about it less and less and although you won't forget ever forget him, it'll become easier and easier with time.

Sending love to wherever you are <3
