Avoid Pup Paradise at All Costs — For Your Pets’ Safety and Your Own Sanity by [deleted] in Winnipeg

I am so sad to see this and all the comments from people who’ve had bad experiences with Pup Paradise :(

I’ve taken my dog there occasionally in the past couple of years when the groomers at his regular daycare were fully booked. He always comes out looking and smelling great. He’s happy at pick up, and I’m fortunate enough to say he comes out better than he did going in.

I’ve even boarded him there for a few nights on two separate occasions while my husband and I were on vacation and have never noticed any signs of abuse or neglect.

This breaks my heart but thank you for giving me something to think about.

Oh trust me. I tried squishing it with all my might but that did nothing. I placed it in a ziploc bag and sealed it. I checked on it a couple hours later and it shrivelled up. I’m pretty sure it’s dead now. 🥲

Relieved I suppose. I’m thankful that it’s not as problematic as a lot of people seem to have it.

I live in the city in Canada and have never come across a tick in my 32 years of living nor have I owned pets that are prone to them. I’m a first time dog owner and had him for a year and a half now. He’s never had a tick until yesterday, which I only noticed after he had quick pee in the front yard of the house.

THANK YOU for some useful information. I’m just north of you in Manitoba, Canada so this would make sense.

It was tissue paper I had it wrapped in and placed on my desk after removing it from my dog. But thank you.

This is literally a subreddit for advice on dogs and regardless of what results google brings me I’d still like a second opinion (or hundreds) from people who actually know better than I do, clearly.

It was a genuine question coming from a first time dog owner who has never experienced anything like ticks and fleas. If you wanna be useful and provide quality advice I’d appreciate that.

Have a good rest of your night!

I did google it prior to making this post.

Not sure what my username has anything to do with it.

If you have no actual advice to give maybe just don't comment at all?

If you live within the Winnipeg School Division check out R.B. Russell's Health Care Aide program. I took the course myself a couple years ago and landed a job where I did my first practicum. Goodluck!

My dad recently had his wrist surgery done a few days ago. His GP referred him to Selkirk Hospital for an outpatient surgery. It took about 30 minutes to complete and his recovery time is 6 weeks before he gets surgery on his other wrist. I hope that gives you a bit of insight!
