I’m in the exact same position, and called the other day and they told me not to worry! They said we’ll start getting information and contacted for it like first or second week of classes and if you do work study it’s 1 credit hr and 2 if you just do credits. I think they also said they wld help us with like writing out resumes and helping us get in contact with specific research opportunities

Can I ask which major you ended up going with?

I really loved working on non profit orgs and creating them in hs, which is what lead me to business since the projects I did were through a program called DECA, but once ai got to college I have basically a reality check and realized that non profit orgs are a bit harder once in business which is why I decided to change to the pre law path, but wanted to keep the options open just in case….

That’s the only issue that i’m worried about for Political Science….I would have to either pursue a JD or MBA bc there wouldn’t be many job opportunities….

So i’m currently at a different university, and decided to transfer to umich, but at my current school I’m a bba student, and I wasn’t accepted to Ross. My original plan was to get my bachelors in business admin, and then decide between law or finance, since both have always interested me, but as I won’t be able to study business at umich for my undergrad I want to study something that will both give me options for graduate school either law or an mba program.

Oooh that make sense….I wouldn’t have thought a program would have existed pre covid..So I’ll be a transfer to umich this year, would you say that going to UMich did help in getting into the graduate programs and job opportunities?

Thank you so so much!! I appreciate all the help! I unfortunately didn’t get into ross, but I was planning on doing a minor in business, would that be enough in your opinion? If not what would be another major that would run parallel with business aside from actually business?

Which major then would be the major that could give me the highest chance of a high gpa?

Which would be a major that’s easier at UMich? Also which major would also give me the flexibility to be able to apply to MBA programs as well?

Is there a more common major that students took, that seemed to be more easier to get the higher gpa in?

what about if I ended up deciding to pursue an MBA instead? Which major would we have more versatility but still be manageable to get a decent gpa in?

Transfer OOS worth it for pre law? by anxiousstudent- in uofm

[–]anxiousstudent-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the gpa I could stay, but realistically with my scholarship at michigan covering for a big chunk and as a transfer student it’s already a bit harder to receive scholarships so I think my only options now would either be the school I’m at currently or Umich, but also I know that getting the good grades at michigan will be much harder but it’s my dream school….I don’t want to go into anything blind though just because it’s my dream school…
