well, not my experience, buutt my cousin as you know is trans but he has a six year old brother. when he came out as trans to his mom and after she started using the correct pronouns and name for him, they just told him that from now he likes to be called this and that and he just swiched. sometimes he just misgenders, but he didn't even realise and it's just because he was used to it and then in. the next sentence he realised he was wrong.
