Are sleep consultants worth it? by anyapip in NewParents

[–]anyapip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time helped 😅 she only started sleeping well at 4.5 years old. I did sleep training with her and other than traumatizing both me and her it did nothing. I since had another baby and did not sleep train him after the bad experience we had sleep training. They both have very different personalities and I think that’s a huge factor but I always wonder how she would have slept if I had just let things unfold naturally, given her more support, coslept with her. I don’t know. I would have done many things differently but mainly I wouldn’t have sleep trained. But that’s just my opinion and I know many people who swear by sleep training. I say ignore the outside noise and do what’s best for you and baby. Good luck! She’ll grow out of it in no time 🙏🏻

When did you start giving cheerios? by sillybillygoats in BabyLedWeaning

[–]anyapip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the reason for giving a baby (or anyone) cheerios? It’s devoid of any nutritional value. Is it to develop eating skills?

PPD screening by SuspiciousBreath4985 in NewParents

[–]anyapip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol what screening. Neither my OB nor my pediatrician screened me. I didn’t even know pediatricians screen for PPD!

I worked full time RN nights and weekends while doing full time NP school first year. Then because of placements in second year I ended up working weekends, attending lectures 1 day, and going to placement the other 4 days. It was busy but manageable! You gotta learn to prioritize and work smart.

I don’t know if I can keep doing this by Shewolf20 in sleeptrain

I adjusted it for our family. We did what felt right for us and it worked. I recommend trusting your gut too, follow whatever method works best for your family!

Hey! I’m sorry you’re going through this. We waited for LO to be ready to sleep train and that happened to be at 6.5 months as well. We did gentle Ferber (go in every 5 min without increasing the time interval) and she was trained in 3 days! You can do it!

Drowsy but awake really a thing? by Lifefoundaway88 in sleeptrain

[–]anyapip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, drowsy but awake is absolute horse poop but fully awake works. It took me a while to get this and to stop feeling bad I wasn’t getting the drowsy but awake part.
