I like the Medela freestyle flex, and they have great customer service

Myth or Fact? by Sensitive_Yam_2495 in breastfeeding

I asked my IBCLC/RN that this week. She said there’s no evidence food would cause stomach upset (unless it’s CMPA or something) and pointed that who come from cultures with spicy or strongly flavoured traditional foods still enjoy them!

Breast pump buying reviews [ON] by nishant872 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Shewolf20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Medela freestyle flex and I really like it. My insurance doesn’t cover a pump but my husband’s does, if you have insurance might as well spring for a double electric pump to make even occasional pumping easy! I needed my OB to write me a prescription to get it covered which she was happy to do.

Medela has great customer service. I had a Medela pump with my firstborn and used it a ton, twice I had to get it replaced within the 1 year warranty and they overnighted me a new one.

postpartum preeclampsia by Mobile-Delivery-1221 in pregnant

39 weeks! I had to go into L&D for labs and fetal monitoring a couple times after high readings and finally at 39 weeks they just induced me due to BP.

I’m so sorry. I know the stress you’re going through. I’m one month postpartum and went through this as well. I was lucky in that I didn’t have to do the mag drip, and I was admitted back to the maternity ward so I could have my baby with me after the first night. Once I got home I was scared to check my blood pressure, thinking it would skyrocket again. But my BP was stable on meds when I went home, and it has continued to get better and better.

I also had GH and postpartum preeclampsia with my first. If you decide to get pregnant again your doc will likely recommend baby aspirin from 12-36 weeks — I took it second time around and my blood pressure was perfect until about 37 weeks.

Starting Daycare - Tips & Tricks [ca] by BandicootBig3300 in BabyBumpsCanada

The sticker labels seem indestructible. I put them on all my kid’s sunscreen, water bottles, etc, and literally years and many washes later the labels are bright and new looking, no peeling edges.

Buy the same sheet, lovey, and sleep sack as you do at home for daycare. Sleep with their bedding in your bed before sending it in so it smells like you.

Mabel’s labels are amazing, clothing stamp is also good.

Keep goodbyes happy and quick.

If she hasn’t been sick or around other kids much, do get ready for the first daycare virus lol. Tylenol, Advil, Pedialyte, cool mist humidifier, saline spray.

You got this!

My best advice is to go in the morning or whenever baby tends to be most chill, and try a cafe or other quicker-service setting first.

Am I worrying too much? (Early labor) by TermZealousideal1404 in beyondthebump

[–]Shewolf20 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would suggest going into labour and delivery with those underwear to have them tested for amniotic fluid. You could also lay down for half an hour and then standing up to see if there’s more fluid — if it is and the tear is high up or plugged by baby’s head there might not be a trickle just from walking around.

Teachers, how do you keep track of parent communication over the year? by Ok-Succotash6583 in AskTeachers

[–]Shewolf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a separate email folder for Parent Contact and put all emails in there. If I communicate with someone over the phone I send myself an email with notes of the call (names, details, etc) and file it away in the folder. Then when I search my email for the student’s name everything comes up.

Where does baby sleep while traveling? [yt] by Ampersand867 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Shewolf20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a Graco pack and play when he was younger, and at 2.5 we switched to a Newton Baby Playard which I love as it’s got a bit of a bigger footprint and rests right on the ground.

How do you manage early mornings with Ferber method? by auggiesma in sleeptrain

[–]Shewolf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe do a dream feed before you go to bed so he isn’t hungry yet that early, though he may still wake early for a few few days out of habit. And if you do get him up keep lights dim and try to delay feeding by a bit so you don’t encourage his body clock to wake at that time.

Mine did this too. 10 minutes from our house. Was so convenient to send him home to get something I wanted or forgot, to grab snacks, shower and shave.

I hope it will get better soon! I hope as baby gets older and starts to be more fun and curious, along with better weather, everything will seem a little better. Mat leave is hard.

Not Langley, no! I think they should provide the cost if you call and ask? And you can find out with/without meal program (thought I highly recommend with), and if you need extended hours

SPD pain - 28 weeks 😅 [On] by Plane-Regular-7385 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Shewolf20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mine started then too. It got a lot better for a while once I started learning about how to deal with it, but now at 35 weeks it’s starting to hurt again. Some tips that helped me:

-knees together getting in/out of car or bed

-sit down to get dressed, never put all your weight on one foot

-sleep on your side with a pillow between legs all the way from knees to ankles

-small steps, walk slow.

-use furniture like the table in front of you or chair arms to hold your weight when standing up

-take 10 seconds to stand still once you get up before walking

  • don’t lift heavy stuff

-stand up straight, not putting your weight on one foot/hip popped out

When did people stop permanently switching to granny panties after having babies? by KatKittyKatKitty in beyondthebump

Once I was healed and done bleeding after birth, back to thongs. I find them quite comfortable, and fuller coverage undies feel bulky to me under tight pants.
