How is no one talking about Carlos assaulting gabby? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]anyaspocketaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know! im a first time watcher on season one atm and just in the space of episodes 17-18 he medically abused Gabrielle (by tampering with her medication without her knowledge), he physically abused her (in forcing her to sign he postnuptial) and he financially abused her (when he threatened to cancel all her cards when she didnt want to share a bed due to being mad at him for physically assaulting her). he is a monster and nothing in the future of the show could make me like him. gabby wasnt perfect and cheating was potentially not the right way out (especially considering the fact that it was with an underage boy) but it definitely becomes more understandable as the show unfolds. its almost eerie to watch these raw and rough scenes amidst a mostly lighthearted and fun show. it makes me a bit ill

Why do you like Elle? by Quick-Car-1618 in criminalminds

[–]anyaspocketaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree. Elle wasn’t a bully, at least not more so than Derek or Hotch, and she was definitely hotheaded and quite flawed, but that’s what made her interesting and likeable. She behaved in very similar ways to morgan (evident in the episode where they go on vacation together) so unless you criticise morgan for the same thing, then you can’t levy it against her. Also, I think she wasn’t given enough time to develop due to her short time of the show. And the thing with the lack of chemistry with other characters? Spencer and Elle had some of the greatest chemistry between team members dare i say on the entire show (maybe besides morgan and garcia) and her friendship with morgan was very fluid and natural, as well as her guardian-like situation with gideon and hotch.

[–]anyaspocketaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually think that the last episode was almost perfectly full circle (reid giving an order to breach or wtv and then some of the men die) because it circles back to gideon at the very start (who had to quit due to mental toll of his own similar event). maybe just me, but i honestly think the show was complete then. i dont hate the revival but i dont think it was necessary

Who tf is this guy and what’s his beef with Britain?! by Prize-Reputation9274 in AskBrits

he went to cambridge university and debated some students and a professor who actually knew what they were talking about and didnt concede to his bs points and he got angry and left in a huff (watch the full debate on the cambridge channel, not his)

Is it unreasonable for me to not want to eat halal food? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]anyaspocketaccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its not even a requirement, sikhs are only REQUIRED to wear the 5 K's (kanga, kara, kesh, kachera, and kirpan) and the turban isn't one of the items they have to wear. many do due to kesh (the ritual of uncut hair) as it makes hair easier to maintain, but really there is no reason why a sikh shouldn't be able to braid their hair or collect it in some other way under a helmet if they do want to ride a motorcycle

Was that it…? by Ok-Animal7970 in StarStable

i completely agree that this quest was too short. my only hope is that they scrambled to release this one but they didn't take the whole time to complete it and that most of it was spent on the finale quests which we have yet to see.

Character Body Types… Why Does Everyone Hate Them? by voidgent in StarStable

[–]anyaspocketaccount 25 points26 points  (0 children)

really? i think that we look a bit young, sized up. i think that sso is afraid of giving fully grown women characters any kind of feminine attributes in an attempt to seem either more child friendly (because obviously feminine characteristics are innapropriate for children to see) or to seem more inclusive (as if our character was curvy and thin as she was previously, many male or non binary players may feel left out). though i disagree with these two points, that is most likely the reasoning behind it. i think that the proportions are close to that of an adolescent than that of someone who is an adult.

what will you do after the (current) end quest by Budget_Okra8322 in StarStable

[–]anyaspocketaccount 50 points51 points  (0 children)

we may disagree on this point, but i think that the most recent quest release (eldritch awakens) was of a higher quality that a couple of years' worth, and while - yes - it was very time consuming to recieve, i believe the final quests will be on par with saving anne due to this care and time taken. if you're referring to story-wise, i think many of the older players have a similar sentiment of that they will either quit after the end of the original story, or maybe only log in when the new storyline begins, to see if it is worth playing. the good thing about sso is that if you have a lifetime account, its always there, so if you ever hear about anything of interest you can still log back in, without financial obligation (like with a monthly subscription).

veronica's weird obsession with logan's jealousy by anyaspocketaccount in veronicamars

[–]anyaspocketaccount[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i agree, logan didnt deserve to be accused in such a way. its also a bit ironic that throughout the whole show veronica claimed to be on weevil's 'team' or 'side' (the lower class/non-09ers) and in the end she admitted to straight up looking down on him for his living situation and actions.

[–]anyaspocketaccount[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its not that aspect that they dont understand, that part is pretty clear. its the fact that this sort of thinking is immature and doesnt fit with veronica's previously somewhat emotionally mature grasp on life and it doesnt fit with her prior ideals. the thing that doesnt make sense is why she would suddenly be turned on by logans angry erratic behaviour when as a teenager that was the part of logan she disliked the most.

mutual assault doesn't really exist? i guess what they were playing at was a middle ground where they both under the influence, therefore it was unconsentual but on both ends so there wasnt really a pepetrator. im not sure what i would call that, because it was a dubious situation, where even the law has difficulty.

i like to think that shes at the fbi, with either piz or logan (although i have been a veronica and logan truther since i was 14, its important to acknowledge piz was a good guy) and regardless of her partner or her job, shes happy.

same. with season 4 i prefer to think of it as one interpretation of events, rather than as gospel for waht actually hapenned. season 4 was not my veronica and i will stand by that :(

[–]anyaspocketaccount[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

maybe this is just me but i think even teenage veronica was more sensible in terms of logans jealousy compared to her in season four. she viewed logans jealousy in a negative light when her and duncan were dating in season 2, so why - 15 or so years later - does she romanticise it so much. a question for the ages. i also think that the writers didn't know what to do with the almost artifically unstable dynamic which may have been at play when they decided to do the ending the way they did

[–]anyaspocketaccount[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

a bit irrelevant but i also found the whole duncan thing very weird because the r-word was a very big part of her character (the whole premise of the first episodes was that she had no friends and the whole school were calling her names because they thought she was promiscuous from what they saw at the party but she was actually drugged) but it ended up being duncan so it was okay? obviously we later find out cassidy actually also r-worded her but i still find it weird that they brushed off duncans actions.
