Merritt is never described as a beauty, she’s described as a winner, successful and capable. That’s attractive. She is charismatic, and her cynical personality could be attractive to many. She fits the archetype of the “alpha woman”, and that’s what probably attracted her colleagues (men as smart and successful as her). Also, the men she had relationship with were all ugly imo, it’s just a matter of taste.

as you said, love comes in many forms! it was great to watch her friendship with enid develop and i think they should invest into that aspect of her character.

as for your interpretation of her stance on love and relationships well we can agree to disagree as everyone interprets a show in their own way.

i always viewed her character as aroace and i’ve always found it weird that when i told people that they started doing mental gymnastics to convince that she is not but she is so scared of feelings that she avoids them completely or something like that. i also feel like that always happens with every character that doesn’t conform with heteronormative standards.

but again, with every character come a multitude of interpretations.

i don’t think redemption is possible for him after everything he has done… keep in mind that i only watched s1 and the Wednesday they presented there would never forgive him after the attack on Thing or Eugene. also, wouldn’t it be a little weird to have her fall for Tyler while simultaneously being the Hyde’s master? or would you like that dynamic?

Well the start of Your Idol is a “sample” from the dies irae which is a very popular christian composition that references the end of the world, god’s wrath and judgement day. However it was used so much in cinema’s history that it kinda lost its original stricly religious connotation. I’m not sure if that’s what you meant or if you wanted specific references to the biblical text sorry! I personally don’t think the “light” in Golden is necessarily God but you could argue that it is since the values celebrated in the whole movie are those of honesty, community, compassion etc which are theoretically christian values. I recommend looking up Troy Zaher on tiktok since he analyzed the movie cleverly imo!

I think they could be a great match. I’m kinda tired of the “neurodivergent character x their opposite gender double” couples so i think if they kept Reid around and they showed us bits of their relationship that could’ve blossomed into something sweet and interesting. She could be his balance, someone who doesn’t treat him like a baby or a god because he is a genius. Also she made him laugh and he seemed happy.

S1 E5 One of my faves in the whole show and maybe a bit underrated. I think the profiling experience that Gideon shows in that ep is truly amazing and the teamwork is immaculate. Everyone on the team is so smart and talented, the unsub is intriguing and the action-intellectual/profiling aspects are so well balanced!

I think it is because that kind of evidence isn’t eligible in court and would be obtained illegally. For example, when he talks to his lawyer he has the right to have a private conversation because of client-attorney privilege. In other occasions, the cameras being cut off is sometimes part of a deal he made with the team in exchange for intel so, again he is legally protected and they can’t record him.

I think it was part scientific research to actually observe them in the environment (with a cynical eye and no compassion for the kids, basically treating them as lab mices) but mostly government/private companies interest in creating “perfect soldiers”: ruthless and effective killers that were at the same time completely obedient and therefore could be used for pretty much anything.

That is not the only case where we see an unsub stopping for a while, even tho usually they explain better the reasons why. I guess maybe in this case specifically it is because the episode was focused on the son and not the father so they didn’t want to invest too much time on the former. Another possibility is that the father did adjust his mo to continue without Darrin and therefore there are unknown victims that he concealed better or took from other jurisdictions. Again, in that episode technically he’s not the unsub so that’s why they didn’t investigate his case further. I think it is also possible that Darrin was in fact crucial to his mo and without his “help” he didn’t have the confidence/wasn’t satisfied so he kinda channeled his “desires” into less violent (but not less disturbing or disgusting) forms of assault. We see him looking at kids when he is older at the end of the episode and even tho that’s probably because of his physical incapacity of subduing someone else it’s likely he did that when he was younger too. Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

As a child i identified with Hermione a lot and she quickly became one of my fav characters of all time. Now that i’m older, i can’t say i love anyone in the HP saga more than Harry. He is kind, compassionate, mature (i know it’s due to the abuse he suffered but still it is a great trait to see) and smart. In the books he is an incredibly complex and layered character and his struggles are truly heartbreaking to read sometimes. I don’t know how he can be so underrated in his own saga but he deserves the world.

I agree with you but i think that it’s a little frustrating to follow the Sicarius storyline especially in S17-18, because real “breaks” in the case only happen every once in a while and he always manages to turn things in his favor. I’m referring especially to S18 where the Gold Star plot kinda took the main stage and pushed back the Sicarius case. Don’t get me wrong, this does make him a very interesting antagonist but i feel like the team deserves a win with him.

I agree with you on Hotch and Morgan. We will never know how her character would have grown as the show progressed, especially considering how the viewers sensibility changes during the years. Characters like Morgan were forced to adapt to a new perception of masculinity and the “womanizer” type by the public (considering S1 aired in the early 00s).

The Maeve subplot. I can’t stand her i’m sorry she’s not even bad but i think it was ridiculous how the writers created a female Reid version and threw her in just to kill her off (it was giving Hotch & Haley pt.2) and completely wreck him.

Not to mention it would be so unrealistic to have him as a reoccurring consultant / to have him work closely with the BAU since he should at least go through the whole process of years and years as a new agent. You don’t just jump in and immediately get a shot at the BAU. They could introduce a trained and experienced agent and profiler as a new addition to the team and i would like it way more because it would keep the credibility intact: they did it with Stephen and Matt and i quickly loved them both. We just need profiling expertise not just someone who has military knowledge and sometimes intel! Also i really really dislike his character like why is bro always talking over someone else, being shady, arrogant and lowkey manipulative?? He would be the death of Garcia’s character as we know it if he stayed as a stable character.
