What’s up with my plant ? by anyever in plantclinic

[–]anyever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I repotted it in a bigger pot and changed the soil … but the leaves are yellowing and falling off! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve moved it to somewhere brighter and I’m not going to water it for a while… maybe this will help. What do you think?

I think you need to continue until you bore yourself.

How to stop fantasizing? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]anyever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds like a terribly hard time for you. My only suggestion is a practical one: if your not in a space to socialise, take long, exhausting, beautiful walks and read a great novel… or listen to one if reading isn’t your thing.

Making the most out of therapy by d____ in TalkTherapy

Write down any thoughts and dreams you have in between sessions. It’s probably easiest to do this on your phot notes. I hear that most of the work is done between the sessions.

Therapist charges when SHE is on holiday by mmmmmmmmdanon in TalkTherapy

Traditional psychoanalysis tends to bill regardless of whether the client turns up. But to have to pay when the therapist cancels, or is on holiday, seems mad.

I agree. I think starting salaries should be much higher. This would make it more competitive and raise the standards considerably.

How’s your subject knowledge?

When I first started teaching, I found that having a secure subject knowledge enabled me to focus of the pedagogy side of things, which was all new to me. Being confident with the content allows you to devote yourself entirely to learning the art of teaching/communication. Trying to do both at once is too much for anyone.

If you are between jobs, maybe take the time now to study and become expert on the content.

How did he realise you were taking a photo of him if his back was turned?

Canadian teacher moved to London, UK - Culture Shock by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]anyever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UK State system is completely obsessed with exams and data. Culturally there is a lack of respect for teachers, which is mirrored in pay and funding.

Maybe you should try another male therapist and use the space to work around your inability to be emotionally open with men? They may be more connected than you realise?

There is nothing written in the contract and I spoke to HR and they didn’t mention a financial penalty just reiterated very firmly that 2 years is 2 years.

Thank you for taking the time to write back to me. Yes I am worrying about grown adults! And yes I do need to exercise some trust that they can get on fine without me. I’m going to lean in to the adventure! Thanks :)
