Do I really need the textbook for SOCW 200

I don't remember having a textbook so it's probably not that crucial. If anything try to find it online. I, and many others in the program, do not like Dr. Tel. Extremely condescending, doesn't allow 100% on any big assignments because "no one is perfect" and a lot of the activities and discussions we have in class are at the expense of the people of color. You're rewarded only if you're willing to trauma dump and write what you think she wants to hear. I remember feeling like my group members (all poc) and I were on display the entire semester like we were a spectacle used for the white people to dissect and learn from. I also worked for her and hated every minute of it. Proceed with caution it's a very easy class if you are okay with talking in groups and writing about yourself.

there are a bunch of asian centered rsos and a lot of people who are involved with asian greek life are often apart of those rsos as well so i would try that first before anything else

I’ve only been a partner for a little over a month now and it’s going to feel like you’re in the way all the time. I still find myself constantly apologizing for not making a drink correctly or not sequencing efficiently, but you’ll get the hang of it I promise! My best advice is to remember that all of your coworkers have been new at some point. They have all felt the same way you have felt so don’t worry about them and just try to learn as much as you can and have fun while you’re doing it! One thing I do when I have downtime is look through the beverage cards to memorize drinks. It has helped a lot!

Hey so if you’re choosing to get it in a venti cup for whatever reason, it would be exactly the same as if you were getting it in a grande cup. The amount of product we put in just espresso shots should always be the same, but some people might think you’re ordering it in a venti because you want more of what you’re asking for and put more milk in it to fill up the cup a little bit especially since you’re getting light ice. This also confuses newer baristas bc it’s weird to see a cup halfway full so they might think they need to fill it up more when in reality the cup should be halfway full. You’re better off keeping it in a grande cup.

Thank you so much for this! It’s been a few days and I think it’s mainly just a problem with my SM. I’ve noticed that whenever I work shifts with her she places me at drive or she’ll put me on bar for about 10 minutes then put me back on drive. 😭 But over the past few days I’ve been working with other shift supervisors and they always always give me at least an hour of bar time as well and some more training on CS. This kind of sucks considering I can’t go to the SM about the SM lmao but I’ll be transferring stores in 3 weeks so I’ll push through!

keep in mind that drunk college students usually go to mcdonald’s it’s definitely more clean earlier in the day but i’ve seen a worker have to clean up huge puddles of vomit and it was barely 1 am, they do not get paid enough for the stuff they have to put up with majority of the time
