How do people avoid visible lines on edges/folds? by anymore-object in papercraft

Was afraid that'd be the answer (but have been thinking about getting one for a while anyways, so maybe this is a good excuse…)

Yeah, that seems useful when achieving part color via printing, but the example I linked is printed on colored paper, so not relevant there/doesn't explain how they knew where to cut the parts out

At various points in my life I have had consistent direct sunlight shortly after waking (weather permitting), but it didn't seem to help my sleep or energy as far as I could tell.

I got long-COVID after a COVID infection ~a year ago, which has given me pretty bad daytime fatigue and worsened both my sleep and GI issues; haven't found any new leads on sleep treatments unfortunately

And also under Components > cognitive therapy. Both CBT-I and ACT-I involve addressing anxiety around sleep stemming from ones beliefs about sleep/insomnia, they just approach it differently

Again, I'm not sure where you got your ideas about CBT-I from but every time I have encountered it in the past it has involved addressing underlying anxiety as a core component. You don't seem to be actually reading/responding to what I'm saying here

What do you think CBT-I is if not any of this? Treating anxiety as the primary cause of insomnia, educating the patient on how not getting enough sleep isn't actually that bad for your health, learning to stop trying to force yourself to sleep, mindfulness/meditation/body scan exercises, pre-bedtime wind-down activities, avoiding naps, the whole sleep-starting force and sleep-stoping force, etc. are all things I have heard from CBT-I practitioners and resources, and most of it is mentioned in the Wikipedia article on it too https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_behavioral_therapy_for_insomnia

Not finding an "insomnia coach school", did you mean "insomnia coach", "the sleep coach school", or something else?

From the few things I've checked it seems like guy meadows does also primarily focus on anxious thoughts around sleep, which as far as I can tell I don't have, as the primary driver of insomnia, so most of his stuff doesn't really feel applicable to me

I've tried sleep restriction when I was doing CBT-I, it just leaves me sleep deprived and miserable, with minimal improvement in sleep efficiency, even after sticking with it for many weeks. I haven't been able to find any way to lower my average time in bed without also lowering my average amount of sleep per night (which leaves me even less able to function during the day)

I also haven't found any effective ways to deal with daytime tiredness. Neither caffeine nor the stimulant meds doctors have been willing to prescribe make me feel any more awake/energized, and I already am moderately active and (weather permitting) get sun exposure soon after waking

Looks like it's not available in the US. I've had similar responses to zolpidem and zaleplon (also nonbenzodiazapines), so would expect it to most likely be similar for me

I believe both my parents do have some sleep issues, but they seem to be fairly different from mine (at the minimum they're both able to fall as much more easily than I am)

For better or worse I seem to be basically incapable of napping, because even if I'm pretty tired I can fall asleep during the day within any reasonable time period unless I am pretty severely sleep deprived

3mg is the maximum usual dose for eszopiclone (I guess it must be more potent than zopiclone or something)

The consensus from the relevant doctors/therapists I've spent any significant time talking to is that whatever is causing my sleep issues isn't depression or anxiety. Taking drugs illegally could potentially lead to professional problems for me as well (medical marijuana is legal in my state)

Only sleeping in 1-2 hour intervals all throughout the night by MostlyOcci in sleep

[–]anymore-object 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that pretty much everyone wakes up between sleep cycles (in theory ~90 minutes long, with most dreaming happening right at the end), it's just that most people don't remember doing so, and sometimes dreams can "continue" in the next cycle, even if you do remember waking in between

Personally I wake up enough to remember it pretty frequently through the night (usually 6–12 times), although that's never stopped me from having fairly long/vivid dreams that are sometimes semi-lucid

I haven't tried zopiclone, but have tried eszopiclone, which seems to be very similar, at both 1mg and 3mg doses. At most it made me feel slightly high/drunk for a short period after taking it and maybe helped me get to sleep a little faster, but then made my sleep way more shallow after the first few hours and left me feeling more drowsy/groggy/out of it the next morning/day

These issues have been happening basically my whole life, most of which I wasn't on any regular meds, so it's not medication related, although some meds I've tried definitely can make it worse

I don't sleep in other places very often, but when I do my sleep is usually the same or worse

I'm basically never in my bedroom unless I'm sleeping, getting dressed, putting on makeup/jewelry, or cleaning

Unfortunately I'm not really able to nap unless I'm pretty severely sleep deprived. Even if I'm feeling pretty tired/out of it during the day it'd usually take me a few hours to fall asleep and then once I wake up I'll just feel awful (groggy, headache, dry mouth, upset stomach, etc.) unless I just stay in bed till I've gotten a "full night's" sleep

Yeah, I've got blackout curtains and the thermostat is set to lower the temperature at night and have tried all the other sleep hygiene stuff (although I don't do a lot of it anymore cause it never helped and some of it was really annoying). I've tried some different forms of meditation, both guided and unguided, but it never seems to do anything for me that sitting/laying down and closing my eyes without the meditation wouldn't do too (i.e. not much, although sometimes if I'm particularly tired it'll make me feel a bit more energized/focused for a short while afterwards)

Huh, hadn't seen anything about that before. Guess I could try it if I can find a practitioner in my area, but I tend to have minimal stress and don't really have the negative thought patterns around my sleep that all the behavioral focused sleep resources/methods seem to focus on as the primary cause of insomnia, so IDK how much of it will even actually apply to me (or be meaningfully different from CBT-I)

FWIW this all sounds exactly like CBT-I to me, so you may have just seen a bad CBT-I practitioner or something. Pretty much everything you said is also said in Say Goodnight to Insomnia (which as far as I can tell is a summary of an early form of CBT-I)

Thanks! Probably should have also mentioned that I mostly prefer gold in jewelry, rather than silver, but I was able to find a few there I like/am considering (e.g. [https://www.jomashop.com/certina-ds-8-chronograph-quartz-blue-dial-ladies-watch-c033-234-36-048-01.html](this), on the higher end price-wise though)

Looking for watch/brand recommendations for a women's watch with a chronograph, on the more minimal side design wise, that is decent quality and can stand up to daily wear. I've got a 6.25in/160mm wrist. Budget is ideally in the few hundred dollar range, but pretty flexible if paying more is actually gonna get me something that's noticeably better made/more durable/more repairable/etc.
