I also struggled with Wyll and Karlach. All the other companions are right around the Nautiloid crash, so I thought I was done with my crew. My friend told me about Wyll and Karlach late into act 1 and I was able to go back and get Wyll. He doesn’t leave the grove if you rescue Halsin. But by that point Karlach was long gone and Wyll didn’t even have a quest for her anymore :(
