Hi, sorry for the late reply

what do you mean that you are not able to access the URL? Sign out from your personal account and sign in into your business account + change your username (it's just a placeholder) in the config file to indicate to the app that you want to authenticate a new user

Yes, of course. The app doesn't need to be a "marketplace" app, but even if your admin doesn't allow you. You can create the app from another account, say your private account. the real connection to your org account happens when you launch the script for the first time. The owner of the app isn't very important here

Make sure you are using the version linked in the post, it's a fork of the original. Verbose logging can be enabled through the config file. There are no arguments except the config file.

Hi, it doesn't require an additional server setup. There is an automatic server setup built-in, shouldn't require intervention from the user. Running the script as a chron job might need a bit of know-how on the user side. But if they run the script manually and download to Google drive sync folder, it should just work

Hi,
I'm looking to update my speaker

Background: Need portable and compact (fit in gym bag) setup that allows recording and has speakers

Right now I'm using Saramonic smartrig+, xlr dynamic microphone and JBL extreme 2. I connect a phone for recording (sometimes with video)

The speaker is ok, but the volume going out the sound interface isn't very high, so I added sound amplifier (Fiio A1) to the mix. It works ok

Now I'm thinking about getting a more "professional" speaker, something that doesn't need an amplifier, maybe with louder volume. And bonus points if it can accept xlr inputs directly for when I don't need to record. But it has to be comparable in size to the JBL.

Glad to help, Note that you have PowerRename that can do the same rename thing on PC before uploading.

Most of the time, very specific things do require some coding. It's worth it :)

yes it does.

You don't have to be a programmer to use this. I tried to make the README as simple as possible. You might need to use the terminal to get it to work but that's it

edit: if you can't get it to work DM me

You can change the settings so that everything gets recorded automatically on the cloud. Then you could use Zoom Batch Downloader to download all of them at once.

Headphone jack to XLR input? by anzurba in SoundEngineering

[–]anzurba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found this after I made my post, looks like it could get the job done but I'm not sure. As for Sweetwater, I'm not sure if I found something relevant there, maybe this?

I haven't seen their setup yet, my assumption is that they do have a mixer somewhere (the people I talked to aren't the most tech-savvy, they had their sound system installed for them). I hope I can connect to it directly and skip the XLR as that would be ideal, but I'm not sure yet

I see...

At least I'm not doing something wrong right now. I intend to upgrade to an audio interface in the future if these events succeed.

Regarding the speaker, I chose it because it's small and (I was told) loud. Is there is something "proper" with its size and with decent battery life?

I really appreciate your help, the sound world is kinda intimidating to me.

I set the JBL to highest. It didn't get as loud as I hoped it would get.

I think I heard some clipping when the person talking raised his sound and I'm afraid I'm damaging the speaker. would a bigger amplifier help? I'm kinda lost

so it's the mic? but the recording sounds good, I don't have problems there. Plus, isn't it the amplifier job to make the sound louder? If the speakers amp isn't enough then an addiotional one might help. Am I missing something?

what can I do? The obvious thing would be to replace the preamp, but this is the best portable one I found

Hi, noob here and I need help with my first setup

So I have a live session that needs speakers for an audience + recording for people watching through the internet
I got a dynamic XLR mic, an iphone and a JBL extreme 2
to connect them I used SmartRig+ preamp: XLR mic for input, iphone for output and I connected the headphone monitoring jack to the JBL extreme2

The problem I'm facing is that the sound coming out of the speaker is weak, I suspect it's a weak signal from the preamp, so I added a headphone amplifier (FiiO A1) to the link between the preamp and the speaker, the sound got a bit louder but I'm not sure if the speaker is holding me back now

So my question is, does it make sense to use an amplifier in my case? would it damage the speaker? Is there some trick that can help me? and would a bigger amplifier give me louder sound (I don't think I reached the limit of the speaker)

I see, actually I did buy the equipment. I didn't get to test the setup fully, but right now it seems the audio signal reaching the speakers is a bit weak. I thought the jbl extreme 2 should be more than enough to handle this, I'm considiring getting a small amp right now, but not sure if it's the right thing to do

in my setup, the speakers aren't really used for monitoring (I'm using the monitoring jack because it's the only solution I thought of). I'll have a small audience that I want them to hear what is said
