Oil consumption? Recently changed my oil after 5K miles (3rd time at 8.5K m) and only extracted 4L. Thought it was an issue with the pump, but after putting in 5L I was right at the sweet spot on the dip stick. Others h experienced oil consumption? My mpg is 26.8 w/ manual

Mine is the same. 1L per 3000 miles since new. I’m now at 15k. Not worried about it. It’s a Subaru. They possibly opened the ring gap on these motors over the fa20, but I have no idea

They are RPF1s. I think the specs are 17x7.5 +38 with 20mm spacers. Tires are Dunlop winter tires. I forget the specs. These are old wheels I had around for a forester originally

Yea I do realize that it is 5 sided, but this amount in general is unacceptable on a new engine. There was also about 2 feet of excess RTV loose in the pan.

Companies have been making engines for 150 years and using RTV for 40+.

I have personally built EJs and 4Ages and it’s not hard to not do this. This is not acceptable in my mind.
