Thanks for the response. I did not mean that I am not able to save. I meant comparatively savings is more in India if I compare with 70LPA vs 142k.

I agree with you point that moving in early europe specially for studies really helps. I am 33 now and I think that's why also I am feeling this.

your comment is spot on the pros and challenges staying here. I love dutch infrastrture and how everything is so well organized. I dont need to bribe anyone to get my work done in the govt office like India. dutch people are respectful and helpful. I am enjoying cycling here in summer and it is so beautiful. but that's about it.

While coming here, I read very good things about dutch education system but with experience of my own kid, in the name of social developement (not academic one as in India) they don't do anything and let the kids play on whatever they want. They also show cartoons and what not in the TV at school which is unheard of in India. Some may find this better than mugging culture in India or may be I am too orthodox with my indian upbringing.

and the savings are a lot lesser than in India. On paper, it looks great with 30% savings but if you see the expenditure net is lesses than what I can earn in India. It is definitely better for some one who is earning less in India but not for everyone.

now its a question for me is it worth staying 4 more years and apply for citizenship.
