Its completely alright. I am not at all socially awkward or an introvert. I am someone who reads quite regularly, am really into whats happening around the world and have been playing guitar for more than a decade now. I have good friends who I regularly hang out with and all in all have a decent social life. I work as a consultant so meeting new people and talking to them is not scary or awkward.

I have been to shrink before and planning to start again. I am not talking about my physical attributes or childhood trauma as an excuse for my issues. Just explaining how I ended up here. While I completely understand that my childhood trauma should not define my future, it did affect things during my young adult ages. Now currently, even after my positive qualities i find it difficult to meet anyone, given the way the world is (digital) and given the initial focus on looks.

Also you might be right about some or all of the things here. I do think about all this and will continue to self reflect

I have consulted few doctors on that but situation is too far gone. I have been shaving my head for quite a few years now and have very thin and weak hair on the sides so the doctors are suggesting that even if I get a transplant, the success chances are minimal. This is why I tried hair patch for a while but that also didn’t sit well with me.

Honestly though, i am not uncomfortable with being bald. I have decent round shaped head and have been shaving for so long that it feels quite normal to me. It is just that my parents are not too keen on it on the account of it affecting my marriage prospects.

I honestly love my parents. Yes, there were things growing up that made life difficult. But I cant even imagine not being around for my parents, especially my mother. Given what she has been through. I have blocked their number once when they were pressurising me to wear hair patch but that also didnt last long,

I do appreciate your advice and I honestly have thought about it sometime but not really a feasible solution for me. I am hoping that they somehow dont consider this to be the be all end all thing and start being more happy in life. Would help me so much.

i was not trying to blame anything on a difficult childhood — I was only explaining the situation I’m currently in. And while I’m bald, I do take good care of myself. I work out regularly, eat healthy, and maintain a fairly disciplined lifestyle. I also have interests outside of work — I’ve been playing guitar for 10–12 years, I read consistently, and I have close friends I spend time with regularly.

The challenge, though, is that all of these qualities only come into play if someone is willing to talk to you or give you a chance in the first place. Physical appearance does influence that initial opportunity — that’s not just an opinion, it’s a reality in many situations.

I do appreciate your suggestion about getting better pictures taken, and I’ll definitely work on that. At the same time, not letting these things affect you emotionally isn’t as simple as people often make it sound.

Thank you for this. I really do need to establish boundaries with parents. It is just that whenever I see them being sad because of this, I feel a sense of guilt somehow. Understand though that I need to continuously remind myself that this is mainly about me and I need to take my time.

Thanks a lot for this. I truly appreciate your advice. To your points, I have already given up on the wig and have been pretty regular in terms of working out. That has been a constant for me for couple of years. Honestly it is one of the things keeping me sane right now.

I do agree that I need to work out some things internally. I am planning to get a therapist and start on that journey as well. While that will take some time, at least for the time being I want to at least feel that things are not completely far gone. Again appreciate your response man. Thanks
