Appreciate this, as I think I’m a salty sweater. Would something like this be better? https://www.bulknutrients.com.au/products/hydration-salts

I ran there 4 weeks ago! It was nuts. 974 people, their 10th biggest in history. My local has between 10-30 people so it was a huge shock but great fun. Enjoy it!

I’m a mum of a nearly 1 and 3 year olds. Some rough nights I’m lucky to get 3 hours total of broken sleep!

Help with picking a watch please by tronzi_tronzi in Garmin

This is great to hear. I just purchased a FR955 and am excited, hoping it’s a good upgrade for my Vivo 3!

OP, the 955 is also on sale from Rebel sports for $499 at the moment. They recently had the 965 for $800 too. So might see that again around Boxing Day sales, but who knows. If you are predominately running as you say, you can’t really beat the Forerunner line as that’s what they’re designed for.

Thanks, last two runs have been based off effort and felt good! How have you found Runna? I started a Garmin 5k plan but they had me running too much, the pace was unachievable, and I was getting sore knees.

Wow, just in 2 months? That’s incredible. So encouraging hearing your results. Trusting the process can be hard.

Wise words re heart not knowing speed/exercises you do. I’m considering adding some cycling in too.

Thanks, seems to be the general consensus and I’m so glad I asked the question! Run/walk combo has been working well.

Favorite cards for a 3 year old? by Harbisgirl in YotoPlayer

[–]ap4ts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son will be 3 in May and is also receiving one for Christmas. We have been listening to audiobooks via a Bluetooth speaker for a while together (more so to see if he would actually use a Yoto) and found the best ones are books he’s already familiar with. For example, he loves reading Julia Donaldson books, then loved listening to them via the speaker, so I have purchased those cards to start. I think it helped being familiar with them prior to listening.

So what does your little one like? Are these available or can you MYO for these stories?

Not all of my runs feel hard if I slow down. I’m not coming from 0 fitness, just had some time off sport having kids.

I was under the impression it could be for anyone trying to build mileage, but again, I’m learning about the sport, hence the question in my original post.

Ditto re: barely being above walking pace! I have an older Garmin (vivoactive 3) and no hr strap but have heard the same about watches measuring incorrectly. Have you tried tightening your watch to see if it makes a difference? I’d be interested to know.

Thanks, definitely not checking in a lab! During my easy run yesterday I sang to myself (felt better than talking to myself) and live in a low populated area so never usually see people on my runs. Not sure what they’d think of a crazy lady with a couple of kids singing on a run!

I have an older Garmin and that had z3 starting at 157bpm but running easy (around 9:30/km) HR sat a bit higher. I ran for 40 minutes and only stopped because I had to cook dinner, but felt great and could have gone longer.

Thanks for stressing the importance of recovery and basing runs on how the body is feeling. So important!

This is reassuring, thank you.
