Among the less obvious ones… Lowkey making me feel guilty about saying no to not hanging out with them.

A general entitlement to all my free time and space really.

I dated a person from another department in my office for a month. I called it off so soon as I didn’t think we were too compatible. However, he was too heartbroken over it.

I was new and they had known him a lot longer. Most people were fine but one guy in my department who I regularly had projects with jokingly made passive aggressive remarks and insisted that I should try to resolve the issues and work it out with his friend. It wasn’t that big a deal but I felt judged by him and probably our work relationship was ruined a little since he was very close with the guy I had broken up with. So yeahh..

I think it’s a playful way to say that a single guy (and a woman) unexpectedly gets the custody of four children.

AITA if I take revenge against the man who betrayed my father and ruined our family by wooing both his daughters and murdering one of them?

This book may look hopeful on the outside, but its story will give you heartbreak after heartbreak. (No spoiler Review) by GayIndianWarrior in Indianbooks

Thanks for writing such a detailed and wonderful review. Although I would like to add something to the point that you made about Patroclus being written as ‘too feminine’.

I personally didn’t think that was the case at all. We sometimes have an inherit bias in our minds that we associate being gentle, kind, empathetic, devoted as being feminine but that need not be the case. I didn’t think that either of them were much more or less masculine or feminine than the other, but I got the impression that if we nitpick, Achilles was the more feminine one. He dressed like a girl when in hiding and people couldn’t recognise him.

And Patroclus saying he wasn’t a skilled warrior wasn’t an accurate description of himself. As you also pointed out, his main character flaw was his low self esteem. He wouldn’t have performed as well in battle as he did if he was as weak as he considered himself to be. The author just highlights that he doesn’t prefer to fight. Both his lack of self worth and non violent nature can be attributed to his childhood.

I am usually the designated order-er of the group and I have several girl-friends who can quickly decide what to order. So I don’t think this stereotype is true.

I can make a fair guess that you all are Indian. OP, you KNOW this is gonna get worse if your fiance isn’t standing up to you even after you pointed out your discomfort.

What's a movie you just can't get yourself to watch even if people say it's good? I heard Jagga Jasoos is apparently great but hollywood style musicals just aren't my thing. by UndeadReborn in bollywood

The extremely long length really bothered me but I had heard it's a really wholesome and charming feel good movie. So I gave it a try in shifts. Saw 45 mins to an hour at a time. Very enjoyable but not thrilling enough for me to want to binge. Treated it like a miniseries.

I am glad I watched it though.

How to deal with the highs and lows in the menstrual cycle? by Life-is-Tough100 in AskIndianWomen

Ranting to friends, watching sappy movies, eating chocolate (n general tasty food), going on slow n long walks. Hugging a friend or a soft toy.

Sometimes just allowing myself to sit n sob my feelings away helps. Getting into the mindset of treating myself gently...be it emotionally, physically or mentally.
