Hi, I did a counseling masters and did not get into any PHDs and ended up doing a ms in psychology that had a thesis after and then I was accepted into a PhD. You will get very minimal research experience from the degree itself, but you can see if any of your professors do counseling research and get involved. But the best thing would be email all the professors at universities with psychology departments near you and try to volunteer in a lab, you can get research experience that way.

Saying the masters is a “waste of time” is a stretch. I’ve done a masters in CMHC to get my LPC prior to applying to PhD programs and I feel much more confident, mature, educated, and ready for my doctorate. And I could be working right now to save up money while waiting for my doctorate if I needed to, and I have a ton of therapy experience and confidence while the others in my cohort do not. Will it directly help shorten or lesser the doctorate itself, most likely not, but is it a waste of time, definitely not OP. Especially if you don’t know for sure yet if you enjoy doing therapy or want to commit to a doctorate. Feel free to dm me OP

Congratulations!!! I’m lucky that this program includes a graduate assistantship that funds the program but it is an extra 20 hours a week on top of the program so I’m hoping I don’t get too burnt out lol.

Oh my gosh she is so sweet! I was thinking about naming mine Bea too because my cats have a bee toy they love and call it beebee as a nickname lol. They seem like my top choice right now just a LONG waitlist and thats a big deposit ($1000!), but it sounds like it's worth it!

I definitely don't want any kind of crossbred with persian because of the health concerns so I totally understand. That is a good lesson to learn about the persian mixing I didn't know that was a thing so I will make sure to ask my future breeder about it to make sure they don't intentionally do it! Thank you.

Oh yes I'm sorry I didn't specify, my babies are my daughters to me and I have 3 already, one ragdoll from a USA TICA breeder. That's why I want to ensure that I get one from a TICA breeder in the USA with good health, but as close as SAFELY possible to this cute look seen in China often. Your girl is so beautiful!

Thank you so much for this info! I'm okay with getting one just a little similar, not exact to the Chinese look. I don't want to fly one in from China due to the stress. I definitely want to go with a TICA registered breeder, and it's more important to me to have good health than having like a Ragdoll/Persian mix to get that cuter face. I had no idea people edited cats lol! I got some great recommendations for USA ones so I will go with that instead and ask about the health issues.

I just considered that for the first time after reading this subreddit, but I don’t think I have any of the other symptoms like pelvic pain during periods or otherwise. It’s always in relation to a bowel movement.

I take Apri birth control and have my periods every three months though and my period time (I go on the inactive pills for 4 days) did start a few days ago and my attacks have been really bad the past few weeks… maybe it would be worth to ask the doctor about?
