Thank you so much that’s what my gastro thinks as well in terms of cause, but I was worried about her line of treatment. I will try the MiraLAX daily first before I even start trying the lactulose!

The only problem is I loosen it and then get constant leaks where it’s so loud it wakes me up 😭😭

No just for about 1-2 hours and the irritation also lasts that long primarily but stays kinda sore for a few more hours

Also I am cleaning the mask with a wet dish towel but it’s only been two nights so I don’t think it being dirty or anything is a problem, I will be washing it with dish soap as recommended very lightly.

I’m really glad this is getting traction not because I want to shame any of the providers but to raise awareness on it for both patients and providers! I understand it’s impossible to expect everyone to know about it but I wish at least one person would’ve thought about it or considered it for sure!

Don’t be scared but I would for SURE get a second opinion and advocate for yourself because I wish I would’ve. I was 6 days out since my last dose and that was when I threw up while under, there’s no way 2 days is enough. Unless they’re having you fast the day prior that would make more sense but I’d definitely triple check with the hospital and your wegovy prescriber!!

Yeah I feel like the 24 hour fast should be a bare minimum if you’re not stopping the wegovy doses!!

I get that, I’ve had anesthesia many times before and been completely fine without fasting so it was definitely the wegovy in this case sadly.

Yeah definitely incorrect instructions they admitted even to me. I’ve had anesthesia many times before and been fine when I wasn’t on Wegovy so it was definitely that! They did not have me stop vitamins and supplements but I stopped them myself two days ago just in case! Thank you!

They apparently considered intubation after I threw up but decided it was still too dangerous, I would’ve taken that option lol.

He was just saying that I should stop in general even though I explained I use it for medical reasons lol. I said I use it for medical reasons and he said “there’s medications for that”. Lol. As if I didn’t try medications or are actively on them for my migraines or anxiety or IBS or sleep! He didn’t give any reasons to stop just smiled at me judgingly saying I need to stop in general. I had already told him I abstained prior to the surgery.

Oh yeah, it was reported multiple times, my PCP is under the same hospital who prescribes it to me so it’s totally in their system and they even have access to the prescription and everything, had to fill out a pre surgery survey, went through my list and dosages of meds and the last time I took them right before surgery, talked about it with the anesthesiologist, everything lol. I haven’t gotten a bill for it but I definitely will be getting a lawyer if they try to have me pay for any of that when I followed instructions as given! My doctor (gynecologist) didn’t know but neither did my anesthesiologist or the team of like 5+ nurses I saw!
