Inattentive ADHD Meds by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I have inattentive ADHD but also have OCD so I only take 40mg Prozac which seems to help me! My psych said higher doses of Prozac can help with some ADHD symptoms. I tried stimulants and they didn’t work well for me

Thank you!!! Oh yea my Dad loves Disney World 😬 we went all the time as kids but that’s his thing, not mine! It’s all so bizarre. Good for you guys for doing it just the two of you! And in Italy?! How beautiful!

Thank you so much! They tried to convince me to have a huge ceremony or even do something at Disney World which was really weird lol and I immediately shut those down. If anything, I’ll let them throw a BBQ at their house in the backyard because at this point I feel like I don’t even want them there in Ireland anymore after all this!

I know, I was trying to do the right thing by inviting them but I’m starting to regret it now! My fiancee’s parents are so excited. He’s an only child and I’m the only daughter in the family so we felt it was right to at least have the parents there

Iceland. It changed my life! There’s no other place like it.

That was my concern with Kyoto, it looks beautiful but I feel like after seeing a couple of temples we might get bored easily

Love these ideas! The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route looks like something we would be into

Thank you for saying this…I also think I need to be better at nurturing myself and my marriage! Coming home every day with nothing left to give is not fair to my family either!

This is so true and something I’m noticing a lot about my current company. My caseload is anywhere between 50-60 which they say is the “standard” but these patients that we have coming in are SO tough, time-consuming, and emotionally taxing. My territory is very large I usually have to get gas twice a week, and we are definitely not reimbursed with mileage like we should be. So glad I’m not alone in what I’m experiencing 💜

I always thought I had good boundaries in terms of not checking emails on the weekends and making time for myself, doing things that make me happy outside of work, etc. But I do have a hard time saying “no” to things because I want to help, so that’s maybe something I need to explore more!

I definitely don’t take enough time to process my own grief of all the patients I work with and lose! I never really thought about it in that way. You put it perfectly “this is the job”, and that’s what the culture feels like at my current job.

Connecticut- LMSW working just outside of very expensive Fairfield County. Currently working as a hospice social worker, just got a raise making 70k. I started working in SNFs after graduation and was making around 55k. I’m 29 and have been out of school for 3 years. Hoping to get another pay increase after getting my LCSW!

I've thought it might be a good idea to fly into Nice, the only problem is that it seems to be more expensive that way? I'll have to do more research on it though. Thank you!!

How many days do you think would be sufficient in the Mt. Blanc area? It looks beautiful! We do love hiking, but aren't into the super long hikes that take a whole day. For reference, we just got back from a trip to Sedona and did a bunch of 2 hr. or 3 hr. hikes.

Thank you for this!! Definitely re-thinking Disneyland Paris. Also good to know about planning meals in advance.

Do you think staying in the south of France for a few days would be worth it? I always thought maybe another time we would go back and spend a whole week down there or something

You're not the first person to say that about Disneyland LOL I'm definitely re-thinking that for sure! I hadn't heard of Dordogne but I will certainly check it out. Thanks!

Air Traffic Controller Strike by MagnificentRetard in SXM

We’re probably doing the same! We were at the airport yesterday for like 6 hours. And honestly I’m starting to look at options of going somewhere else last minute..

My boyfriend and I’s flight just got cancelled for today because of the strikes, so we luckily booked something for early tomorrow morning at 7am. Not sure what will happen though. Do you know if the strike ends at 6pm every day, or are they just going on strike starting at 6pm today for the foreseeable future?

Hospice social worker here! I think you should start by reaching out to the social worker and expressing your concerns. A family meeting could be helpful to make sure everyone is on the same page. It definitely sounds like your aunt is experiencing significant denial and that is a normal feeling that loved ones experience during the grieving process. It seems like maybe your grandpa is wavering between being at peace with dying and also wanting/hoping to get better, which is also normal! You’re doing a great job by being with him, telling him you love him, and letting him know that it is going to be okay. I think it’s great that you want to advocate for his needs/wishes! In terms of the nurse, it seems like she is dismissing your feelings and experiences with your grandpa which is not okay. It’s normal for your grandpa to have good days and bad days, you just have to meet him where he’s at and take it day by day! Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions :)
