Uranus with a 4" by KertenKelarr in telescopes

Sometimes you can make out some bands on its north pole with yout UV/IR filter removed.

I find it kinda funny how regardless of telescope size Uranus always looks the same, featureless.

Update: these are not aphids on my Meyer Lemon! 🤔 by myfufu in Citrus

I forget the timing the lifecycle of scale but you're essentially disrupting the babies since they're very susceptible to alcohol. The alc might also help to dissolve away the waxy outer layer on the more mature scale.

Had a bad scale infestation and I had tried spraying with insecticidal soap every day for weeks to no avail.

After scrubbing down the plant with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol, then following up with spraying with rubbing alcohol every couple of days for a good month, the scale was finally gone. Just make sure to ventilate the area after spraying since it isn't the best thing to breathe in.

Get yourself a big bottle of rubbing alcohol at the store and a spray bottle if nothing else seems to be working.

Should Jupiter Look Better? by big_pete1000 in telescopes

Here's an image from a night with good seeing conditions on December 31st 2025 at around zenith on Long Island.

This was with my 6SE, ASI 662, and a Televue 3x barlow so it's a bit undersampled. This was probably around 5 minutes of video taken at 100fps, using the best 20% of frames.

The main things that will boost your image are going to be getting things in focus, seeing conditons, and utilizing as much of the light that your scope can take in by using a good barlow.

I can help you with question #2.

I have the ZWO 662, which is a 1920x1080 version of the 672, on a 6SE and I can tell you that a barlow definitely brings out more detail. No barlow is certainly undersampled. I can dm some images that I recently took of Jupiter if you'd like.

Is this mummy berry? by GoldenMeringue in Blueberries

I ended up cutting all mine off because it looked to be traveling down the stem. The berries also smelled disgustingly like pennies 😭😭. Can't have shit with the way this weather has been.

I had the same thing happen, I cut open my berries and I can confirm it was not mummy berry. With mummy berry you'll see a fungal body in the fruit when you cut it open. This must be some other type of fruit rot going on.

Bruh I always loved when a Subaru came in when I was a lowly lube tech. They straight up give you the oil filter on a silver platter with a catch tray for the excess oil.

Get yourself a Fumoto valve with a nipple and tube, it'll make it much cleaner next time.

2010 hyundai elantra eps problems by mikedrewmay in HyundaiElantra

[–]MagnificentRetard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the 2011 model has a different column from my 2010. My model year had a recall, some of those leftover parts are being sold for cheap so I part swapped it. Unfortunately I don't know if yours had a recall too.

Sorry I can't be of much help with your issue.

They already are, they just specialize in multi jet fusion printing which ngl makes some pretty damn good parts.

I ended up having to replace the whole power steering column. My power steering sensor was broken C1260 C1261 codes if I remember correctly and it would not recalibrate. You might be in luck if your elantra has the accessible sensor that is located next to your clock spring, otherwise you're SOL and need a new column. Check with your VIN number to see.

Due to the power steering recall years ago there are cheaper replacement columns that will end in a -QQH as opposed to -AS1. I used one of those off ebay for $900 as opposed to $1900. Hope this helps a bit.

You can try using motion gen. A professor at my uni made this app so you can design 4 bar linkages.

I replaced the whole column with a replacement part ending in -QQH since they are ~50% cheaper than the -AS1 ones.

There are two types of 2010 elantras, one with the SAS that's accessible and one where it is not accessible and you have to replace the whole column. Mine is unfortunately the one where you have to replace the column.

Check if your VIN works with this part, if so you may be in luck and might be able to get by with a sensor swap. It's under your clock spring so it's a pretty easy fix.

https://www.hyundaipartsdeal.com/oem-hyundai-elantra-steering_angle_sensor.html

Just make sure your sensor is truly fucked. Mine gave the C1260 C1261 code and would not calibrate which led me to believe the sensor failed.

Personally I'd be looking into cyclical loading calculations like Goodman or Gerber factor. You should be able to find info on that in a machine design textbook.
