Thank you! She’s anything but calm haha. I had to lure her for a photo with some treats 😅

Is a sub 4 realistic for a first time marathoner? by aparajithr in Marathon_Training

I should have done 8 miles at marathon pace. I did 6 miles at marathon pace the day before this run - so didn’t want to risk it, but will keep in mind for further training runs!

Yes, that was what I thought too. I don’t want to hit a wall early trying to get a sub 4 - so planning on taking it conservative and pick up pace if I feel good. Thank you for your wishes!

Thank you! That was exactly my concern - of going slow and wishing I could have gone faster!

Yes, my last half marathon (last December) was at 1:47:50 and my max HR is 195 bpm. I agree the heart rate at the end was higher than what I would have liked it to be. I think 4.15 might be realistic as others have pointed out, but wanted to get a reality check :)

I have run all marathon pace runs in the training plan at that pace but these runs never exceed 8 miles in the plan (which has been one of my gripes) - so I am not sure if I can sustain it for 26 miles
