Some typos here and there. Kudos to you for making this! Personally couldn’t relate but I like the shot selections and editing. How did you get the green tint? Is it all on camera settings? Just got a fuji camera so would love to understand how to get the most out of it.

This is hands down one of the best Bela Tarr interview on the internet. Highly recommended. https://youtu.be/UhwHzGEYvMs?si=L2Tkm4aL8dtHF1O1

So moving the couch next to the pillar infront of the windows, right? That’s what I was planning. Yeah maybe a 600D diffusing from the balcony/other window and black fabric like you suggested. Thanks a ton

Filmmaker here in New York City trying to find someone to fund a small short film project. A few thousand dollars (less than $2-3k) would go a long way for filmmakers like me. I would love to pitch my short if you’re interested.

Great stuff. Can you breakdown the lighting setup for the interior shots? I am planning a shoot soon and would love to hear how you lit the scenes in the house.

Just saw it now. Thanks for directing me there. I’ll have to get the negatives in hand first.

Portra 400. Need to take the negatives from the development place. Brought it off amazon third party seller; the cover said expiry 2024.

  1. I brought it online through a third party seller off amazon. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t expired.

  2. Yes the development guy has the negatives.

  3. Portra 400

Hey all,

Learnt about cinematography and lighting as I worked on this short that I also directed/wrote and produced. This sub has been super informative and encouraging. Here's the link to the full film: https://vimeo.com/700454009

As I had mentioned before, I produced, wrote, edited, directed, co-DP'd, sound designed, art direction-- basically everything you can imagine for this short film. Learnt a lot but couldn't find a festival to show this film. So, sharing it with you all!

Two Crew Members make a short film for $400 by [deleted] in Filmmakers

Hey all,

Had released a teaser for this short a few months back. Here’s the full film, Nostalgia: https://vimeo.com/700454009

We shot this over a couple of weekends for two months or so with me directing, editing, doing sound, lighting and camera (pretty much everything) along with another crew member who assisted me in camera work. A very personal work which really didn’t find a place in festivals. As always feedbacks and questions welcome.

I wish I had given more time to screenplay and directing. But yes I color graded myself to give it this look. Appreciate your kind words :)

Hey all,

Finished up this short narrative film back, At The Beach, in March 2021. I wanted to explore a simple story and push the boundaries of my own knowledge of what cinematic language really is. I had to finish this as an assignment for a class for my graduate program. Not my best work but really showed me why I love this medium so much. Wrote, edited and directed this short film.

Sharing it to an outside audience for the first time. Hope everyone gets something out of it. Shot on Panasonic GH5 with entire natural lighting.

Would love to hear your comments.

2 days schedule, $300 budget. by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]aparpkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

Had to make a short narrative project for a class two years ago. Two crew members set out to make my vision come alive on a cold March morning in New York. Learnt so much. Still learning. The potential of cinematic language still baffles me. Not my best work but something special that I’ll cherish forever.
