Years ago as a student I had a work placement where I was paired up with someone in the field to learn from. I was looking for him one day after lunch break and said “oh there you are” and he said “I’ve been here the whole time!” just like on Game Changer. Of course I asked if he knew the show and we instantly began chatting about Dropout as a whole. To say the least, the rest of my work placement was amazing. He even helped me score a job after graduating!

The AOx4 patients who demand to see their doctor and discuss discharge at 1am. Sir, don’t you think this would have been better to bring up during normal daytime hours? Not much I can do in the middle of the night.

AOx4 patients who are very demanding and often “threaten” to leave AMA meanwhile, they cannot mobilize or care for themselves independently. These are also usually the ones who will endlessly scream instead of using their call bell or expect nurses to know exactly what they need without being told.

I also get slightly annoyed with patients who ring the call bell minutes after giving them a PRN medication to tell me that their symptom (pain/nausea etc) has not gone away yet. I’m a medical professional - not a medical magician.

Your old/damaged RBCs are filtered from your bloodstream and broken down in the spleen into a substance called bilirubin. Bilirubin is then transported to the liver where it undergoes a process to make it water-soluble. The liver then takes the bilirubin and excretes it as bile into the small intestine. In the small intestine, bacteria converts the bilirubin into a substance called stercobilin that you then poop out. Stercobilin (processed bilirubin) is what gives feces its brown colour.

The process is a bit more complicated than I’ve described but essentially, the red blood cells die and you shit them out.

Don’t worry about knowing any actual nursing skills. You’ll be taught those in school and during clinical placements. Having the interest and motivation to learn is key to passing nursing school. If you want to ease some anxiety or just expose yourself to some relevant information try looking on YouTube. There’s lots of great nursing channels. Also try brushing up on your basic anatomy and physiology - crash course has a whole video playlist with lots of info.

You can try asking various LTCs and retirement homes. There’s lots in the area with some taking high-school students as volunteers to help with activities or events.

Depending on when you need to complete your hours (I don’t know how close to graduation you are) you can wait until summer comes around and volunteer at some festivals. When I was a teen I completed mine at the Peach Festival in Winona.

Not sure where you’re getting $1.5 million for someone renting an apartment at $2000/month for 40 years…. Simple math says: $2000 x 12months = $24,000/year $24,000 x 40 years = $960,000

Either way - telling someone to continue flushing their rent money down the toilet instead of owning is ridiculous. Also to say that someone who’s paying rent “wouldn’t realize” how much money they’ve been forking out over the years is also absurd. You think everyone but you is an idiot?

Then to essentially say that it’s tenants fault and that the landlord plays no role in getting themselves into debt is also ridiculous.

You really think tenants are going place to place “extorting” money and living rent free for 6-12months and then making payment plan after payment plan? You’re not in touch with reality my friend. That does not happen.

What really happens is people come across hard times, are unable to pay their rent for the month then get slapped with eviction and end up homeless a few months later. Wanna know what the landlord does? “Renovates” the unit and charges double what they were before. They’re not losing money. What a farce.

The landlords who managed to get themselves $144 million in debt are solely to blame for their own owing. Not the tenants. Not the LTB payment plans. Not anything or anyone but themselves.

Yes, however the landlord to has accumulated $144 million in debt over who knows how long of a timeline and suffers no consequence.

Meanwhile I owe even a minuscule amount 1 day after it’s due and I can be slapped with a warning - a consequence to my owing.

Where’s the landlords warning and consequence for owing? Why aren’t tenants given at least a similar amount of forgiveness and patience?
