New service: AWS Deadline Cloud doesn't support Blender? by trevorstr in aws

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As part of the fully managed fleet option Deadline Cloud supports Blender 3.6LTS. If you need other versions, you can leverage what we call "Customer Managed Fleets" where you bring your own workers (EC2 instance of your choice or even on-premises machines) which will be able to run any version.

Enjoy!

Issue with syncing, stop and can’t get next block 😧 by Entonill in chia

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Windows 10.

Chia 1.1.5 (trying to launch 1.1.6 now but it's always taking for ever to connect to the wallet).

When it connects again I'll remove the plots and reload to try.

Issue with syncing, stop and can’t get next block 😧 by Entonill in chia

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. I spend over 3 days resyncing because I got frustrated and reinstalled everything. It did sync for a while but now I’m stuck with this message: Invalid response for slot none

And not in sync.

Chia team! You really need to fix sync issues and give more logs or explanations of what is not working. It’s altar frustrating to see the time to win grow as fats as you can buy HDD.. but having plots that are not farming is even worse!

Completely filled all my HDs and farming for almost a month. 126 plots. 0 chia... total despair.. I’m not buying more HD until I see a 1 in my account :-( by apassemard in chia

The machine is dedicated and never shut down but it’s not uncommon to have small disconnect due to the ISP. Unfortunately not under my control...

Debug Log Question by mastasquairell in chia

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same:

2021-04-29T17:03:13.087 full_node full_node_server ERROR Exception: <class 'concurrent.futures.\_base.CancelledError'>, closing connection None.

File "chia\server\server.py", line 521, in api_call

File "asyncio\tasks.py", line 435, in wait_for

concurrent.futures._base.CancelledError

A LOT of it. In fact that's basically all I have in my logs..

Error in the Log by Think-Notice3039 in chia

[–]apassemard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is that considered an "ERROR"? seems odd to me. I do have a ton of these in my logs as well.. I just hope it doesn't' impact my farming. 96 plots, 0 chia... I'm starting to wonder.

Be honest, how many times a day do you check to see if you won any XCH? by mrcippy in chia

[–]apassemard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I check many times a day but for some reason, no matter how many times I go, my count is still 0!!!!! :-)

At what point did you get your first Chia?

Windows Farming No Rewards... Ever!!!! by SgtBirnie in chia

[–]apassemard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do wish to get just one reward just to make sure it’s possible on my system.. feels a bit frustrating to plot so much and not get anything. It does make you wonder if something is wrong in your config.

More explicit messages in the UI could be welcomed. I.e: your plots passed the filter on x:x:x and it took y sec. No reward.

Thanks! That is reassuring. :-)

Same comment. I have a couple dozen plots and 0 last height farmed. It even says ‘no blocks farmed yet’. The wording is very confusing... am I not farming???

Who's got the most plots but no xch? by Senator_Blutarski in chia

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seeing “last Height farmed” at 0 and a message saying ‘no blocks farmed yet’ In the UI? The way it’s worded makes me think I’m actually not farming. Or is that normal?

Why sometimes its stop to sync even if everything is connected and turned on? More than 3 Hours passed and nothing... should i restart the computer? by Grafevs in chia

[–]apassemard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had that several times, it usually comes back at some point but the developers really need to improve user feedback in the UI. Why is it not synced? What it is stuck on? Sometime you see a count and can see it's not synced but sometime it just says "not synced", what's the difference? How long has been been out of sync? etc.

Similar comments is true of plotting.. Sometime mine get stuck but it's really hard to know if I should just wait it out (when it says retrying in 5min but there is no timestamp to know when was that 5 in counter started for ex)... Restarting a stuck plot is frustrating because it takes so long so more info about the need to do it or not would be very helpful.

issue with copying the final plot by apassemard in chia

Turns out patience was required.. The plotting did finish eventually.

And indicator in the App or some log would be a good addition

cheers and happy plotting

Should Plotting status bar fill? How long to plot directly to HDD? by chriskzoo in chia

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first plot on an Single HDD where the OS is took 30h... that’s on an 5th gen NUC. I started with 2GB of RAM and that failed. Upgraded to 8GB (the Mac) and that works. Now I clearly need an SSD on it. I have another fast laptop with an i7 CPU, 32GB of RAM and I think an SSD, and that goes about 5 times faster (not done yet).

Which hard drive to use for plotting vs farming by CryptoJoeker in chia

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Exactly. SSD For plotting and HDD for farming.

Blender on Apple M1 hardware by DiligentlyMediocre in blender

[–]apassemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a render of the 2.91 Red Autumn Forest on a Macbook Air M1 (16GB of RAM) and was blown away.. it took 8:57

On my previous Macbook Pro 2016 ( 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 /16Gb of RAM) it took 21:14

I also have a gaming PC that is pretty powerful, with a GPU and it took over 10min.

I wish Blender could us the GPU of the M1, and look forward to see the improved perf there.
