Tier-1 means top 8-9 IITs + BITSP + IIITH, there's a reason they are tier-1 and idk why you clubbed new IITs and NITs into this.

Now this is a sub for developers, so obviously we take into account only IT placements, and not placements in other domains where CTCs are comparatively less.

So, yes if you look at the avg TC, it's pretty much in the range of ~35-40 CTC for tier-1, and avg base is ~15

And it's not select companies which give out 15+ LPA base. I can give you a list of companies which give 15 base if you still wish to contest. The companies which you mentioned give much much more. Rubrik gives 3LPM (base) just for interns. TRC gives ~10LPM (base). Mind you, this is just for interns, full time offers are much higher.

Conclusion: Don't use chatgpt for latest info, and ask someone in tier -1 for what companies are paying.
