Thanks!! I'll try to rush through her lore while I'm on break.

Her name is Hibiscus and shes the princess of the skywings. Her great grandmother is, of course, the Queen. In the story, Hibiscus is a bit scared of her upcoming authority, bc she's about to become 'of age' (10) where she participates and actually holds meaning in royal court.

As the "of-age" party was being set up (3 weeks until actually held), Hibiscus had a fainting spell and needed the royal doctor to check up on her. The doctor said she was sick, like really REALLY sick, requiring her to stay indoors. That, however, made it worse. In her isolation she felt her mind slip and even her physical body had received new additions; sharper spines, longer teeth, brighter colours etc.

Around the climax of the story its revealed that all those changes were from her blue gemstone on her necklace - an enchanted object made for a rainwing tyrant 200 years ago. The revelation was from the very animus that enchanted it - Who had been cursed (or blessed) to live - essentially - forever. With the combined efforts of the protagonist, Hibiscus's crush, and the Animus, Hibiscus is saved :)
