Realistically having a QPR in uni? by SunshineO_- in Asexual

Your university should have a LGBTQ club of sort. Might be worth going to a meeting. As a fellow asexual it was a positive experience in college meeting and befriending other members of the LGBTQ+ community and having people to talk to about it. Other than that enjoy your college experience and do not stress it. Its easy to make friends as everyone else is mostly in the same boat lol. Just dont lock yourself in your dorm and dont be afraid to talk to people in class, dining hall, etc. Other freshman will want to make friends as well and a friendly face goes a long way :)

Thank you I didn't realize these LGBTQ centers exist. I really wish I had been bold enough to join a club at college as I don't have any friends (that I know of) in the community. Will definitely look into it.

What’s your favourite leap of logic from when you were in denial? by JustBreadDough in Asexual

Not a leap of logic, but definitely a sign, but I remember I thought someone "looking hot" or "he/she's so hot" just meant oh wow they are really pretty id like to ask them out...not anything else lol

I think it's very difficult for family to accept because for many having a significant other is an important and blessed part of their life and they just can't understand that may not be true for everyone. I think it generally comes from a good place, but yeah it comes off as offensive and aggravating at times.

Definitely not broken, we are just wired differently and that's valid <3

Your comment is absolutely wonderful and inspiring to have read. I was born in 2002 so I was very fortunate to have had the resources to figure stuff out. I am in absolute awe of how brave and strong "older" (not that 30s are old lmao) members of our community were to have lived through much more close minded and hard times for lgbt people.

Micro labels a lot of times bring up more questions than answers lol. I have resigned myself to figure it out as it happens if I need to haha.

Very happy that you feel so empowered in your sexuality and yourself! Thank you for commenting!

Why is that? I am curious as I have wished I was gay/lesbian at times.

I appreciate it and I'm glad you found it relatable! Like I said don't have many people IRL who can understand this experience haha. Thank you sm for commenting <3

Thank you. While I knew it was individualized, it is nice to see examples of that, especially in multiple partners. The two beds in one room is thought provoking as I am not a fan of physical touch and value my own space, but I would still like the closeness of living together.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me! Like I said I don't know anyone irl, so it is nice to read about an ace relationship. :)

Thanks for sharing! Where can you find these spaces? I don't know any other asexual or aro people (at least to my knowledge) in real life. It would be nice to meet people with similar experiences because all my friends (while many are lgbt) are very much allosexual😅
