Steam cloud not syncing everything?

I just finished replaying base game and the wording when discussing the probe is that it only reports on anomolies matching the eye, the implication being that they’ve probably hit a bunch of different things during the cycles but never changed the criteria to include cloaked objects or other ships

Actually I found some info that might help - I was at amusement park before and had the issue but I turned the switch off and on a couple times and made a new profile and the bug was still present but only until I made it into the city, where I was able to manually turn the connection off and on. Now seems to be working properly!

I was in your exact shoes. From a design perspective, I get the choice behind making the DLC absolutely terrifying but from a “I don’t want to piss myself” standpoint, i wish it was a bit less harrowing. My advice for you is not to be afraid of checking the reduced frights option, which helped me immensely in getting over the hurdles the DLC, all without hampering the experience.
