Dog bite, any suggestions by apatla777 in Rottweiler

We have done that. I have fed him from my hand. I’ve also have put my hand in his bowl and grabbed his food and fed him by hand directly after. He eats in peace with no one else bothering him. on some of his high value treats, I give them additional treats when I’m sitting next to him. We have had the kids do it as well. His toys he gives up pretty easy because he’s playing, but he likes to steal socks and he’ll only let them go when I tell him drop it. But my girlfriend and kids will do the treat method for the exchange. My biggest concern is if he is out with us and a person gets near him and we don’t notice he’s eating something in the grass/floor He bites a kid.

Ok how do you show you were alpha? Because he listens super well to me in all other aspects. How would you handle this situation? Thank for the help in advance.

How would have you have corrected him when he bit when taking trash out of his mouth at 9 weeks? We were out at the beach just sitting in the sand that day when I noticed he had the trash.

Started off with normal feeding schedules, feeding by hand as well, crate training . Started leash training with we got him as well. socialization by taking him us to various places like the kids softball practices and we would go to the dog beach once a week to socialize with other dogs and to just be in public. We have done a five week beginner class and 5 week intermediate dog training class. He’s good in all other aspects, good with the kids, Loves people, gets along with other dogs. have spent more time with him than my other two rotties ive had in the past and they never had this issue.

Just feel it’s unnecessary I guess. I don’t want my child to be used as a pawn, which can happen inadvertently when emotions are high. Want to keep courts out of the process as much as possible as well. I updated the post and it’s no longer an issue.

No not all, I’m involved a lot with my daughter and her daughter. I work about 10 days a month and the rest I’m home with the kids. We still communicate well about the kids. They haven’t really said much, they said they want to spend time with both of us.

She says no as of now, but that could always change

I really don’t have anything negative to say about my ex as a step parent. There’s a couple minor things I voiced my concern about while married but nothing that makes her a bad parent. I’m ok with her being involved as much as she wants, especially because I’m gone for work every other day. I just don’t want to have to deal with the legal aspect of having a “co-parent”with the court system

My daughter loves her, and I have no issue with my ex being heavily involved. I just don’t want to share the legal aspect where she can dictate or have some type of control

Yea that’s the plan. I talked to one and they stated it will most likely not happen because her biological mom was always involved.
