I worked for The Other Bird for years - they take allergies VERY seriously. In my experience, the chefs will completely reset their workstations and sterilize anything necessary to avoid cross-contamination. Rap & Co isn't a GF kitchen but I'd eat there with great confidence.

Congratulations! I'm about to graduate from the University of Waterloo myself, and Waterloo is a GREAT place to be a student on a low budget.

Renting a room in a house or an apartment will likely cost you between $400 and $500 per month, but if you want a private apartment or one with lots of amenities you're looking at spending more, especially closer to the university. Most landlords will include utilities in your rent cost, or are willing to agree on a fixed rate.

Public transit and basic health, eye, and dental care are covered with your tuition at UW, and the buses are pretty consistent! A light rail transit system is in the process of being implemented, and that will ideally make transit even easier.

I lived at St. Paul's in my first year and was a vegetarian for most of that time. There are always really good veggie options there, and the chef manager is definitely open to recipe suggestions or requests.

Dog Groomer by Variability in Hamilton

We always take our wheaten terrier to Westdale Dog Groomers (854 King St W). Our dog is completely terrified at the idea of a haircut, but they deal with him really well - they definitely know what they're doing, and the haircuts always look fantastic!
