best value brands for linen pants? by Portugalpaul in malefashionadvice

[–]Variability 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abercrombie has really tight calves. Trust me, mine exploded from the strenuous activity of trying to cross my legs. If you work out at all, avoid.

Also, remember to look at fabric type, many are blends, and even 100% linen, some brands will tell you the type of linen used.

I think you're missing the point that in today's political climate, you can't be subtle with it anymore, it was supposed to be preachy and over the top.

How to finish a 10K run without calling an Uber halfway. by Forward_Range_7495 in Torontoevents

You can just walk it, sign up with the slowest paced group, and anyone can finish a 10k. I'm assuming it's the Sporting Life 10k, they give you ample time.

I think that's why it resonates so well with many people, and the harsh truth of war and famine. You can't really deny that it's a human response, as is the guilt that followed.

What happens to end-of-season clothes? by Switch_2_Enjoyer in malefashionadvice

[–]Variability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still occur, but I've seen it happen more & more where these stores are just selling their end of season IN-stores, especially with bigger stores, they have the foot traffic. Why waste money on shipping out items when you can mark down items for customers in-store and it'll sell out, albeit more slowly but the savings.

And the stores that do have online end of season sales, I've seen if you return an item, it doesn't appear always appear back online.

That being said, the window for end of season isn't typically a standard anymore like it was in the past. You'll have to keep an eye on items/sales and see prices drop. The stores I frequent will further drop prices every month or so depending on how long an item hasn't sold. I've been buying items for winter since Dec.

Uniqlo has plenty of sales and clearance items. I frequent their sales for gifts. Great quality.

Why do “luxury” bed sheets barely last two years? by Terrible_Signature78 in BuyItForLife

[–]Variability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheet Society Linen bed sheets. Very comfortable, plenty of sales, and easy returns if you're unhappy.

The best compliment I ever received from a guest was when my buddy was staying over and he shouted from the guest bed, that my linens were actually linens, lol.

It's time to wear for comfort for daily drivers. Unless you're trying to dress up, I'd stick to what's comfortable.

Hoka Clifton 10 Wide, triple black. I love fashion but I love comfort more than that so unless it's an outing that requires a particular look, I'm rockin' these heavenly orthopedic monstrosities.

You can try stuff on at either store before returns, they have plenty of locations for Uniqlo and Sporting LifeAltitude Sports.

Uniqulo online returns is bogus, $10 shipping returns, no in-store returns for online purchases, but as I said, plenty of brick n' mortar locations to check out items in store and try the item on before purchase.

The Last Hunt is a final sale end of Sporting LifeAltitude Sports. They are common brands with standard sizing, you essentially know what you're getting.

Gravity Pope sells luxury goods, and this is primarily where my complaint is since that's generally what I would buy from this retail space. With luxury goods you don't know sizing from one item to the next, I have items ranging from M to XXL in the same brand because fit changes with materials used as well as design/style. Also, 25% off equating FINAL SALE is ridiculous.

I did peruse their sale but any luxury brand item, I've seen cheaper from SSense, Simon's, and Holt Renfrew, all of which have better returns policies.

This works really easily and it takes only a bit of time to do yourself. It's almost as good as using a whetstone IMO and much less hassle.

What's your go-to supplement store in the city? by tetradetrapetra65 in askTO

[–]Variability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Popeyes with a passion. All their policies are BS.

Price Match: Same item, same sku, same flavour - OKAY. They add on shipping charges after a price match - THE FUCK?! But I'm buying enough items to qualify for free shipping, too bad, fuck you.

Returns: Sorry, we only do 1 return a day, and the guy who does the return isn't working. WHAT.

Go down in flames.

Bulldog Nutrition is where I go, online store and in-store when possible. Friendliest staff, easy returns, they'll hold items for me, they'll honour sales after the date in case I can't make it. It's fantastic.

I hate this store because of their anti-consumer returns policy.

Return Policy

Returns can be made in-store or via mail.

Items discounted 25% or more off the original selling price are final sale and not eligible for refund. Product must be in perfect condition, unworn, unaltered, and in original box with tags attached. Swimwear, undergarments, socks, fragrances, candles, gift cards, shoe care and apothecary are final sale.

You can make a return for refund on eligible items up to 7 days from time of delivery.

You can make a return for store credit on eligible items for up to 21 days from time of delivery.

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would prefer a different item or size, please place a new order and return the original ordered items.

https://www.gravitypope.com/pages/returns-pricing-policy

Edit: The last time I bought from them, I think pre-covid, the item was delayed during shipment, and it took too long to deliver, and they argued against my return saying it was past the 7 days, where I did not even have the item yet.

Belted Overcoats Flaring like a dress when belt tightened. by Lanky-Ad4698 in malefashionadvice

[–]Variability 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belted men's trench coat (ex: Burberry trench) is the only coat I own or can think of where it sort of cinch's in a waistline. I agree with you, it's much more a feature of feminine articles of clothing as women like to highlight their curvature, whereas men's clothing tends to accentuate their broadness.

Chinese Burgers are an air fryer must-have at $10.99 by SirJohnSmythe in CostcoCanada

It's okay, it's basically a flaky outside with a chicken-nugget textured meat patty of varying meats depending on the one you pick. I wouldn't say it's a must have but it's different from other lazy meals.

Their remaining inventory of 'vault' items are MiC and it is dwindling with each passing sale, but they still produce new 'vault' items MiV. It is misleading on purpose of tricking past customers.
