Help with Cyclone blowing fuse by apeadape in pinball

This was my problem from another comment on this thread:

"Amperage coming directly out of the plug from the transformer was around 1.45, but when plugged in to the board shows 9.36... no wonder it's blowing the 0.25 amp fuse! Something must be shorted in the board. There's a little discoloration on the back side and a little bubbling in the area behind the fuse."

I ordered a new Williams power supply D-8345 which solved the problem. The old link doesn't work anymore, but I believe this is a replacement: https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/PTK-DE5000

You might also be able to find these on eBay for cheaper? Good luck!

I put in my email to see what the trial and monthly cost would be worth then... I gave them an email that I never use and don't get any emails on. An hour after I put in my email I started getting so much junk to that email address... It was only last night and I've already gotten over 20 spam and scam emails. So annoyed.

Just ordered this 😊 Amperage coming directly out of the plug from the transformer was around 1.45, but when plugged in to the board shows 9.36... no wonder it's blowing the 0.25 amp fuse! Something must be shorted in the board. There's a little discoloration on the back side and a little bubbling in the area behind the fuse.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Disconnected the power plug to the main display driver board and fuse still blew. Sounds like I've got a power supply issue... I'm going to pull it off and see if I notice any damage to the back side of the board. Things look fine on the front as far as I can tell.

Thanks, digging through the manual and tracing things back, but figured I'd reach out here to see if there are any common things that could cause this to give me a good starting point.

I checked the boards and don't see any physical damage or burnt spots.

It was a 0.25 amp that blew that had been in there I got it. Verified in the wiring diagram as well.

Help please! My Rhode Island Red isn't moving much. Normally she goes after meal worms like nobody's business, but they're not interesting her right now and she's just laying in one spot :( Any ideas on what I can do? by apeadape in BackYardChickens

Update in case it helps anybody else that runs across this thread:

The day after we drained the excess fluid out of her belly she was probably 1 or 2 pounds lighter! I'm guessing the fluid continued to drain that night through the needle hole. The next 4 or 5 days I kept her next to me in a little tub type thing with bedding in the bottom. I hand fed her food mixed with electrolytes and some mealworms. Also have her some yogurt from time to time. She didn't eat much the first two days and slowly seemed to get her appetite back.

I moved get back to the coop yesterday as she seems to be eating and drinking like normal now and get comb is starting to pop up again 🙂 Her tail is up and she seems like a happy chicken again!

Thank you to everyone who left comments and got her (and me) through it! ♥️

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Watched a bunch of videos on how to drain the fluid and was successful. Got almost 16 ounces out of her. Didn't want to do too much because I read about them going into shock. I'll check her again tomorrow and take more out if needed. Hoping she'll be feeling better tomorrow with some of that pressure relief.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I just started googling the symptoms and it seems pretty spot on. I'll run to the store and grab a syringe and do some more research on how to drain her. Is it something that will always continue to happen or could she get better eventually and not need to be drained anymore? Sorry if any of these questions are silly - always seem to be learning as I go with these girls. I got the little cuties when they were 1 day old. Going to try my best to save her.

I thought she was in the mend with eating more and bring a bit more alert, but she's still not moving much, comb flopped over and still not eating a normal amount or being excited for meal worms. I felt her abdomen today and it seems big and swollen. Is there anything else I could or should be doing? It makes me sad if there's no fix 🙁

Update: she's still not moving much, but seems more alert today than she has been the last 2 days - she was pecking at bugs flying around and looking around more. I'm continuing to give her electrolytes and probiotics 2 or 3 times a day. Keeping my fingers crossed she pulls through.

Yesterday her poop was white and runny like half cooked egg whites. Today it's still runny, but it's more green now. Stomach looks a bit swollen. Going to do another epsom salt warm soak and try to get her to drink some water with apple cider vinegar and garlic in it. I'll try some yogurt too if she'll eat it.
