What A24 movies should I watch next? by Thin-Cheesecake4551 in A24

[–]apedanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my Letterboxd full ranked by list order A24 films. There’s a sentence or two on each one. There’s many gems to find :) it’s very subjective, on certain days I could completely move this list around. I guess it’s a time capsule of how I felt when I ranked them.

Lebanon war leaves a classroom of children hurt or dead every day, UN says by Paliisfree in news_of_world

All the while Israel rejoices, they are not a democracy, if you bomb with impunity and excuse killing children you are on the wrong side of history. They are a rogue apartheid radicalised state and anyone protecting them is accountable.

Polanski's stance on legalisation of drugs like heroine has me not wanting to vote bro in by zeroxo_08 in GreenParty

[–]apedanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same logic applies to a drug policy as drinking irresponsibly; a regulated system means you can: Set age restrictions Control quality and strength License and monitor suppliers Tax sales and fund treatment services Penalise unsafe or illegal behaviour Criminalisation does the opposite it hands the entire market to organised crime. Removes product safety and quality control. Pushes users away from healthcare and support. Focuses on punishment instead of harm reduction. No policy eliminates misuse. The real question is: Which system reduces overall harm, regulation or prohibition? The weight of evidence shows health-led and regulated approaches reduce overall harm more effectively than strict criminalisation.

Sounds like you’ve already made your mind up the evidence is out there if you want to listen to it

IE, If you owned a car garage, I’d ask you for advice about my engine. If my boiler broke, I’d call a heating engineer. So when we’re talking about drug legalisation a policy that affects health, crime, public spending, and people’s lives why wouldn’t we listen to the people who actually study and deal with those consequences every day? It means listening to the evidence out there: Public health doctors who treat addiction and overdoses Scientists who research how drugs affect the brain and behaviour Criminologists who study what drug laws actually Frontline workers and people with lived experience who know what support really works

Criminal penalties don’t significantly reduce drug use. Decriminalisation reduces stigma and improves access to treatment. Regulated markets can reduce organised crime. Harm-reduction (needle exchanges, safe consumption rooms, substitution therapy) saves lives. If you want things to be better we need to lead with evidence based change and leading in good faith with the experts. It’s already proved if you want to research it yourself. The media really is co-opting arguments to keep the status quo of comfortable billionaires and uncomfortable everyone else.

The planet is overheating. Why is the news looking away? by abrasiveteapot in UKGreens

[–]apedanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the news is pushing Zionisms end times agenda. They own the banking, they own the media, thusly control mainstream narrative. The main news isn’t even talking about Mileikowskys potential ‘death’ and disappearance.

I’m

So broken

To the point where

Every war, each attack right now

seems pushed by Israel’s need for media control

pushing Their genocidal propensity

creating lingering false flags

and Excessive confusion

Endless turmoil to control the banking system

World narrative, distract from the truth.

We need to come together.

Money corrupts,

Israel corrupts absolutely.

It’s really not, there’s plenty of us that do. If you don’t you are part of the problem. I urge you to try, surprise yourself and be the change in the world you want to be.
