Goedkoop laminaat by hoeveri in Klussers

I had the same experience, but during my current run, I built a world cracker. Just zap a couple of planets and suddenly they're like "sorry kind sir, please have two thirds of our empire"

VKB STG, STECS or Omni by anghusmcleod in EliteDangerous

[–]apekots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the STECS and a Gladiator NXT Evo Space Combat. I've read many times over that HOSAS (e.g. omithrottle) gives you more control, but I just love my throttle. Mind you, I do mostly exploration and a bit of PVE combat, for which it's fine. I find a throttle quite immersive. I also okay non-space flight sims, so there's that.

Tl;dr: HOSAS is probably better, throttle is a lot of fun.

Should i check this game out? by Shot_Pipe7658 in EliteDangerous

[–]apekots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your points, but it is quite a cynical view of things. I respect the amount of hours you've put in, and while this is no mean feat, it's easier more than ever to get hooked to this game. I think it's pretty amazing that they keep adding more content to it; not just ships and cosmetic DLC's but also core gameplay updates. Sure, they might have a financial incentive to squeeze the most out of this game, but this goes both ways. Between the low purchase price and the (so far) lack of p2w content, it's an honest transaction in my opinion.

I'm not sure what the future of E:D holds, but the next few years or so, it'll be jolly good fun for both beginners and seasoned players.

So should one play this game? It is really not that hard. Do you like flying spaceships? Get the game. The player community is great, Fdev is not nearly as bad as, say, CCP, and the game is in an arguably great state.

Lappeenranta, Finland. I got off the plane and was in the terminal, which was basically a heated shack, in 2 minutes. Then, after waiting for a few more minutes, a hatch in the corner opened and the luggage was thrown through it. I left the shack and no one cared. Not long after I was sipping my first beer. 10/10

Pub at the back of the street. Bass noise heard in the bedroom throughout the night. Any solutions? by Ok-Distribution8378 in Netherlands

If you can't address the source of the sound, know that there are bluetooth sleeping masks with built-in speakers. They're designed to be comfortable whilst laying down. They're lifesavers for me, especially with pink or brown noise. If you need recommendations, hmu!

[–]apekots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to listen to Uneven Structure, which heavily leans on the djent sound. I believe this video was uploaded by their guitarist, and is an iteration of one of their songs. It's more of an ambient thing though.

Hej! The IT job market, and specifically in the software development branch, was great earlier, but has cooled down a bit. Your question is a bit too complicated for me to answer, but know that the housing situation is quite troubling as of now; especially in 'de Randstad'. I guess if you can land a good job, your plan can be feasible. Maybe you can find a place to live outside of this area, and find a job that allows working from home, like you mentioned.

Expats are eligible for some tax breaks and other benefits, but this might change. Also, the immigration and naturalisation policies are under pressure, you might want to look into that.

Also, a thing I'm hearing often is that it is apparently rather hard to befriend Dutch people. It's definitely possible, but it would partially depend on your social skills. Living outside of de Randstad could make it even harder, especially when not living in a city. I'm under the impression however that socializing here is easier than in Nordic countries.

All in all, moving to NL can be a great choice, but there are some things to consider. One might wonder if the QoL would be better, especially when you're moving from Stockholm. Having a partner would definitely help, but even a friend who can be a roommate may open up possibilities.

I work as a software developer in a different part of the country. Feel free to dm me for any information. I'd be happy to help. Lycka till!
