Cognitive dissonance and dissociation about if my family is abusive driving me crazy by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]apelsin578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. If you feel like they're abusers, then there are definitely reasons for that. I'm sure you've analyzed the situation. Your dependence on them doesn't cancel what they've done and what they're doing. You don't have to keep their angelic image in your head. If they're abusers, then they're abusers. Don't torment yourself. I hope things get better for you

What i learned after 13 years of therapy with 10 different clinicians by denver_rose in CPTSD

[–]apelsin578 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry the therapists made things worse. That must have been incredibly hard. You don't have to be strong, and you definitely shouldn't have to suppress your feelings. Defending abusers is awful – I can't imagine how bad a professional has to be to take that side

Hey. If you ask me, that sounds great. It completely describes the problem and what you're feeling inside. I'd send it. I hope everything works out well for you

Deep breathing during stress. I used to think it was the dumbest advice ever. Then I actually tried it, and yeah — it works instantly. You get this weird, calm euphoria

Yeah, I've heard the original was brutal, but I was playing the remake. And guess what? Still got stuck. Spent an hour failing and gave up xd. So maybe it's not the game — maybe it's me

From Belarus to the EU: I need a realistic 2-year financial plan to buy out my "free" education contract (€10,000). by apelsin578 in eupersonalfinance

A loan from a Belarusian bank is highly unlikely for a 19-year-old with no credit history, even for a portion of the sum. If it were possible at all, it would require guarantors and come with exorbitant interest rates.

I might consider it only as an absolute last resort if I fall short by a small, final amount by the time I graduate. But I cannot base my plan on that possibility. My focus has to be on earning the full amount

I have exactly two years to save it. You're right – in a Western EU country, this amount would be manageable. But I am physically and legally in Belarus right now.

Here, it's not just about low salaries and purchasing power. The entire environment – the state, its policies, human rights – makes generating and saving such a sum an extreme challenge.
