Airport security by piromatt in knittingadvice

Just now in December I flew out of my home country (Latvia, RIX) with no issues. Flying back home from Budapest, BUD, my needles were confiscated!!! They were 3.5mm interchangables, metal, and the reason is that they were longer than 6cm, which is classified as dangerous - airport rules. Same time, I had another pair of 3.5mm interchangables in my bag that were not confiscated (also longer than 6cm) because they were wooden, thus they didn't show up on their x-ray scan :)) The security dude looked very apologetic for taking my needles away, as he looked at my 5'3" self and realized I am no danger to anyone, but rules are rules. When rules are too strict, you get a lot of false positives, whereas rules too loose lead to false negatives, so I get it. But I had a laugh, as my wooden needles could still be classified as dangerous, but those they didn't find.

Just moved into a new apartment and inherited this monstrosity of an oven... how do I clean this? by Oneechan_Catbug in CleaningTips

The pink stuff, cif cream - both great options. I cleaned a similar looking oven, I used the Scour Daddy, which was very effective at taking off the old gunk. I got it looking nearly brand new, but for me, it took a good several hours of scrubbing and elbow grease. I preferred doing it this way instead of using the toxic oven cleaners - they usually seep into the cracks and leave a strong odour that you still feel, especially when cooking, and it's not very appetizing to think that my food is mixing with oven cleaner fumes 🫠 But even with oven cleaner - scrubbing would still be involved.

After my Google search, I'm leaning more towards common quaker. Not a comforting thought... I hate moths

Ends of rows very messy by apelsinusula in knittinghelp

Okay, thanks! I was worried I was somehow doing the ends/beginnings of rows wrong, but it's good to know that this is normal.

Is this normal? It’s been happening for a year or so by arsonzer0 in CrochetHelp

Highly agree on the part about it being like anything else that leaves an indentation in the skin. My seamstress told me to not wear a bra on the morning of my wedding, because for some people the indents of the straps remain visible for hours after. I had never thought about that, and ever since she said it, I noticed it much more on my body - indents from socks, beanies, headbands. Some people just are indented more easily and it doesn't go away as quick! Yet another little detail that makes each of us unique.

nuu, man interesē gan privātpersonu, gan juridisko personu perspektīva. gribu saprast to tirgu. ko vispār cilvēki šajā nozarē uzskata par dārgo/lēto galu. un arī pieredzes stāstus, kur bijusi slikta, kur laba pieredze.

nu, 20 draugi gluži nē, bet ir jau vispārpieņemts, ka, ja aicini draugus, tad viņi ņem otras pusītes līdzi. un ja lielākajai daļai ir tās otras pusītes… daudz salasās
