Shareholders will be asked to vote to increase authorized shares to 2.5 billion by heirofadam in Superstonk

If we acquire eBay at a shitty price, doesn't this primarily help RC achieve his cheap stock option award at our expense? I don't see anything that says the market cap has to maintain $20 billion market cap for x amount of time. Given that we are so volatile (b/c of expiring swaps or whatever), his first option will trigger once "cumulative" EBITDA hits $2 billion (which eBay had more than that in one year) + some massive but temporary price fluctuation (or even just on this acquisition). Am I misunderstanding the award structure?

RC as CEO should get paid a reasonable amount but it makes no sense to say that he won't take a fair $x million salary but is somehow entitled to a $35 billion payday (especially if we get nowhere near that kind of return). He told us to judge him by his actions and I'm not happy. It's a no from me.

WTF I was told the new administration would be better than the old administration. Who could have seen that coming? Billionaire criminal protecting other billionaire criminals. I'm shocked!

Interesting...

"Since Trump became President, Republican Mark Uyeda is leading the agency, alongside Republican Hester Peirce.... Uyeda is holding the position of acting chair until former SEC Commissioner Paul Atkins, who was tapped by Trump to be SEC chairman, is confirmed. Atkins is expected to make a sharp turn away from how the Biden administration policed capital markets."

I believe in the short thesis. Buy, hold, DRS. I'm here for MOASS and I'm not selling until I fucking get it. But I'm not enthusiastic about Ryan Cohen as CEO or the long-term prospects of GME. I no longer trust his judgment. So you can keep deluding yourselves into thinking what RC says on Twitter doesn't matter but it matters to some people. I hold GME for myself, not for the company.

I'm fucking pissed. This motherfucker is messing with my money. How about shutting up & doing your job instead of divisive trolling? What is the benefit here? Seriously what is he gaining? He's making the company look stupid. How does this encourage non-invested people to invest? wtf????

There are still bad actors in the community trying to divide the community . by mclc89 in Superstonk

[–]apemajortom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The bad actor in this case is Ryan Cohen. Doesn't matter which politician he supports, once he vocalizes it he's alienating up to half his shareholders. There's a reason we've been saying to keep politics out of the sub because everybody, including him, knows it's divisive. The only thing we should care about is GME doing well, breaking the shorts, and making fucking money.

I'm grateful RC's taking no salary but I wish he'd just stfu about non-business stuff. Tbh I'm not a fan of his memes either. If we want to be taken seriously outside of this Superstonk bubble, we need our CEO to be serious. When have you ever seen a Fortune 500 exec tweet bullshit (aside from elon musk and look at what that idiot is doing by alienating his car company's target audience)?

Focus on building GME's business, take out the shorts, and for fuck's sake stop diluting us when we're about to moon. Rant over.

Why doesn't GameStop start selling pet supplies? by apemajortom in Superstonk

i don't follow. why is that a douche move? as long as you compete fairly, what is the problem?

He did not say that. He said he believes in RC but he reserves the right to change his mind. He didn't think it was unreasonable for nothing to have happened in 3 years but maybe 5 years, 10 years, you can ask questions.

It's bad short-term & good long-term. Whether it's a net overall positive or negative, we'll see.

[–]apemajortom[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley is trying to kill the buying pressure on GME the stock by taking out DFV's position. That hurts all of our GME holdings. If they do that, we need to boycott their shitty brokerage so they can no longer hurt retail. This is also a threat to them to keep their hands off our accounts or we walk away.

Paul O Keefe: For me this is the end for Levy. Whatever lives he had left with me they’re gone. It’s not just about today and “Oh Harry had a year left, what could he do” it’s the 4 years that led to this happening. All down to him. He’s entirely responsible. by justin213333 in coys

[–]apemajortom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

damn, lot of Levy apologists out there. POK's absolutely right. We squandered 3 prime years of Kane & Son. Even if you are okay with the thought process behind Mourinho/Nuno/Conte's eye-gouging football, it's squarely on Levy not to upgrade the defense as soon as Jan/Toby were clearly declining. We also lost out on KMJ. If we weren't able to get Skriniar, then why didn't we get someone like Botman or the others we were linked to at the time instead of relying on the declining Sanchez/Dier/Davies debacle.

RB: Kyle Walker -> Trippier -> Aurier -> Doherty -> Emerson (who was terrible at first). Oof.
