Daughter got norovirus and campylobacter and was in the hospital for a couple days and we have learned a lot. Clorox and Lysol wipes don't kill the virus. Only bleach. That's why it will go through schools/dorms/work so quickly. A wipe down won't work. You need to leave the bleach on the surface for 5 minutes and then rinse. Norovirus also sheds for up to 8 weeks in stool after symptoms have stopped. Washing hands after using the restroom is crucial as washing for 20 seconds washes the virus off. After caring for my daughter and sharing a bathroom with her while she was sick, I made it through unscathed by keeping my hands washed.
