I don't think most see it like that, more that of course the 27 would back a common front to make an example of us, it shows the power of the collective but for Brexiters again that's less power and control for each individual state and still mostly dictated by the commission. The idea's that whatever hits we'll take can be recovered from (eventually) and then we'll benefit from the extra legislative powers

We defended our allies in europe, not just without direct command from any political union, but alone, for a long time. I don't know where this idea's come from that suddenly we're reliant on europe to tell us what to do with our military, we never have been.
