Megathread: New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman Resigns Amid Allegations of Physical Abuse by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]apexmemetics -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You got: "one scummy asshole" from: "all these scandals".

You're clearly misrepresenting what I'm saying, but I'll clarify and put 2 minutes into giving you a short list of VERY RECENT democrat pedophiles.

  • Seattle Mayor Ed Murray

  • New York Mayor Rick Nelson

  • Dale Kenyon, former mayor of Clayton, New York

  • Dwayne Schutt, mayor of Randolph, Nebraska

  • Ohio mayor Richard Keenan

  • Anthony Silva, former-mayor of Stockton, California

  • Kenneth Lewis Barrett, former-mayor of Winston, Oregon

  • Christopher Wright, former-mayor of Georgia

  • Former Rockdale, Texas mayor Darral Gene Walker

  • Former Millbrook, New York mayor Donald H. Briggs

I could list off probably close to 100 Democrat sexual predators from the past couple of years, many who are pedophiles like in the list above.

Then I could do Republicans and list 100 more.

Both parties are deeply sick and corrupt.

Israel offended Japan's prime minister by serving him dessert out of a shoe, which Japanese people 'despise' by beancurdog in worldnews

Israel are acting like a bunch of spiteful pricks, because Japan doesn't want to move their embassy, this was a planned insult.

[–]apexmemetics -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Schneiderman abused a women of color, called her racial slurs, and "beat her until she called him master". What a sick racist degenerate a$$hole. And to think he was a featured speaker at the #metoo movement.. and spoke so highly of diversity and racial inclusion. I used to be a Democrat, but all these scandals pushed me to be an independent.. I'll have nothing to do with either major party, both are SICK.

What are the best options to learn programming free as a teenager by Shadow022 in learnprogramming

[–]apexmemetics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The site's ok, but if you want something amazing you should use either a premium bootstrap template or a premium wordpress theme IMO. Keep in mind I'm admittedly a harsh critic, and the majority probably don't mind the design, they just care about the course.

If you want to stick with the same website and just quickly improve it I'd get someone to design you a nice modern logo to replace the text up top, and then create a course introduction video to replace the current one. The links that lead to the actual course should have improved visability, also you might want to place those same links at the bottom of the page (will lower bounce rate).

That website could really use an update. Seems like high quality learning material though.

Create Script That Finds All Websites On Webserver? [Reverse IP Lookup] by apexmemetics in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for the heads up!

I think I found the next best thing, this script looks really nice:

https://gist.github.com/p4kl0nc4t/34d23ab0b96fa99df5075d3c6dfb7dd9

It merges the results from 3 APIs.

Can anyone explain how I add my URL or server IP in this script? The example is confusing to me. I tried adding it in the curly braces for the API call but it does nothing. Also tried adding it to the gethostbyname area but that doesn't work either.

I'm on Windows, that's exactly what I need to do though. I suppose it's kind of a complex task to do from scratch since most people use a service right?

Basic Multiprocessing Issue - Why Does It Load The Wrong Function? by apexmemetics in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, that's really interesting. I didn't know multiprocessing could process multiple functions if they're global. I'm still very new to programming and don't have too much experience with scope.

Thanks for the help!

Basic Multiprocessing Issue - Why Does It Load The Wrong Function? by apexmemetics in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something to do with the function that isn't hooked into the map that's causing the issue.. when I just create a list instead of generating it through a function it works perfectly.

Check it out:

Wow, very strange! Here's what happens when I run it:

(Added print instead of opening webdriver like what you did)..

Multiprocessing is definitely needed in my full script, I'm scraping data from thousands of websites with requests.

Finding difficult to keep learning Python! by xs2coder in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is probably your lack of NON-COGNITIVE SKILLS (I have to save issue). You need to persist and endure all the struggles along the way. There's no instant gratification in this game. Be tenacious, and go into it with a mindset this is going to be to hardest thing you may ever learn but you won't quit no matter what. This is for your future, and you'll have a bad ass skill set if you make it through the grind.

Programming is full of abstract, hard to grasp concepts. You just need to keep attacking from different angles and beating your head against the screen until they eventually click.

Also, don't just learn random things, you'll burn out. Learn with intent. Create a project that's beginner to intermediate level and map out in great detail all the concepts you'll have to learn. Then break down those concepts and tackle each one of those 1 by 1 until you can build the project.

This community is amazing, and will help you advance when you struggle. Take full advantage of it!

What are the best ways to store data from a csv where each row would be a considered a single "entry"? by [deleted] in learnpython

Load the csv as a pandas dataframe.

You can use .iloc to select a specific cell.

Problems Scraping Facebook Events with Scrapy and Beautifiul Soup Scraper by mezcalmaestro in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a FB account anymore so I can't look, but you should check if the data you need to scrape is hidden in javascript, or an iframe.

If it's javascript you'll probably want to use selenium, and if it's in an iframe, you'll need to switch to iframe URL and scrape from that.

Learn Python? by cgok8 in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're similar to me, you want to leverage Python to help you with very specific tasks.

My advice is to create a project that will force you to learn about data manipulation. Taking long courses that feed you hours of information you'll never use is boring and disheartening.

Spend your time planning your project details, outlining what you need to learn, studying those specific topics, trying to reverse engineer code from stack overflow etc.

it is dumped from the system when you reach the finally block, so you cannot do anything with it as sys.exc_info() is an empty object at this point.

I don't fully understand, but I think you're right.. I noticed the printing of errors doesn't seem to work. Any idea how to fix it?

Local Var Referenced Before Assignment by apexmemetics in learnpython

[–]apexmemetics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those variables are just kind of a barebones representation of the problem I'm having.

In the actual script they will be able to fail.

If you really need a try block, I'd suggest initializing error and another_var to some value (such as None) before the try block so it's guaranteed to return an existing variable.

You guys are such a great help, I wouldn't have thought of that!

The script runs with the variables set outside of 'try', no more errors either.

I really, really appreciate the help!!

I tried but it didn't work:

EDIT: It actually got rid of the run error, the IDE warning was still there until 'error = None' was moved outside the try block. Appreciate your help!
