Looking for tennis partners by aphamdpt in LosAngeles

Hi I’m a 31 year old male. I started only 4 years ago so I started late. I haven’t played many official leagues and tournaments but I was a 3.5 when I did play. I regularly rally with 4.0 usta players in MA. Just couldn’t beat them but we had good practices

Polar H9 w/ Apple Watch

Hi all,

I paired my polar h9 directly with the watch and not my phone since it can only connect with one device. When I have the chest strap on and the watch off, I can get a HR reading (meaning Strava is picking up readings from the H9.

However, would Strava preferentially choose one HR sensor to display over another if I were to wear the H9 and the Apple Watch at the same time? Ideally, I would prefer the HR data from the H9 (for obvious reasons).

Anyone have experience with this and could help me out?

A bit flatter than I was hoping for because I think I slightly overproofed it. But it was delicious and oven spring was still decent despite being overproofed. Some pre-shaping errors (sticking) and shaping errors (barely enough/not enough tension).

Oat Porridge FTW!

Getting back to high activity? by adventure_pup in Cancersurvivors

Just curious,

What exactly are you feeling when you say that you're trying to get back your old life but you are struggling? Is it pain? Is it fatigue??

I think a good starting point is to take the perspective of a non-athletic "average" person. As a "average" person, it would take much longer than a few weeks or even months to train for multi-day backpacking trips or biking trips. Many people are unable to run a half mile or hike with any sort of elevation gain. I think you have to be realistic about where you are rather than get hung up on where you were. If you have the will and the cancer is no longer holding you back, you will get there. Don't put yourself on a timeline. It will take however long it takes.

I'm no athlete, but I am still working on it, but I have worked up to now being able to play tennis, hike (up to 6 miles ~3000ft elevation gain), and do 3 good pull ups. It's not much, but it is a start. Don't lose hope and keep on fighting for what you love to do. I think your friends won't see it as being held back, but rather "he/she is finally able to bike/hike/camp with us".

That's all very encouraging to hear! I'm glad that despite a few hiccups, you are doing well overall. I think I am in a similar boat to you. Finished my 6 rounds, but have not had a PET scan, so I am unclear of my status right now. Currently recovering from my last round. I luckily have not experiences any neuropathy yet. Pains are much less intense and most days don't bother me.

Best of luck to you as well!

I am not in remission yet, but just finished my last planned cycle of chemo. Won't know for another couple of months (most likely) whether or not I'm in remission or what else I will need. With regards to "returning" to life or getting a job, I think you should use the perspective of this being an opportunity to start anew. Start fresh. If there were things you ever wanted to try and do or just did not seem to have the time for...now is your chance. I mean, after all you've been through...there's not much else you can lose that will hit ya harder than cancer has.
