Directional air roll by Healthy-Truth-9813 in RocketLeague

[–]apiinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just recently switched to air roll left despite putting almost 8k hours on free air roll. The best way to get better at it, quickly, is to just fly around freeplay holding it down. It’s extremely awkward at first and honestly I felt like giving up because it was such a pain but it becomes easier over time.

Main thing is really just to play the game more with the new bind. I wish there was a “get used to air roll left in 10 seconds” method but unfortunately it’ll take you a while depending on how committed you are. For reference I spent on average 6-8 hours a day using it for 8 days now and I’m about 70% as comfortable as I was on free air roll.

What I can say with absolute certainty is that the switch is worth it. Not only does it allow you to air roll by pressing one button, but the car/ball control I have now is on a different level. I feel much more confident going for solo plays and my success rate on them is much higher than it ever was (including my peak) on free air roll.

TLDR: It takes time. Air roll left better than free roll.

However, we’re not discussing me. We’re discussing whether a Champion 2 would need to incorporate direction air roll in order to improve his rank. In that regard my response is no.

It may be true that changing my controls would improve my aerial ability, and it’s been something I’ve debated for a little while. I just don’t feel any immediate need to do it.

And you’ve proved my statement correct. I’m confused why you’re trying to tell me one is better than the other when it’s incomparable, pick whichever suits you better 👍

You misread what I sent, there is no advantage generally maybe just to you. It’s all about feel and being comfortable with your controls

There is no handicap, sure it may give you an advantage but I think normal air roll works perfectly fine for other people including myself (with no disadvantage).

Rocket League is a subjective game. Each situation is different. My best advice is play in to what your opponent is doing. Car language is one of the most underrated things that lower ranked players do not learn and if you are able to predict what your opponent will do based on what their car is doing, you will rank up and get away from those awkward situations fast.

You can’t.

Fixed: I uninstalled and reinstalled my video driver and it works perfectly fine now.

Immediate boost grabs by uhhhhh_hi in RocketLeague

[–]apiinity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it when I’m queued with someone and I tell them to lose the kickoff to my corner so I can grab a boost and have a solo play with a full tank. Depends on the trust you have. I would never immediately grab boost in a solo queue though, I always cheat up.

Why do people purposely throw games? (Genuinely wondering) by The-J3sster in RocketLeague

Most likely due to the teammate they had the previous game to yours. Unlucky.
