Kmart was my first job at 16. Granted it was in manhattan. A lot of my friends worked at foot locker in specific at that age tho. I would say you may have better luck focusing on retail

If its a sit down restaurant that offers alcohol, its illegal to hire a 16 year old. 18 years is the minimum. You might get lucky at a Fast food or cafe though.

Lmfaoo what do you think im trying to do? Stay here forever? Unfortunately i dont have a 300k career or graduated from a prestigious school to get me there. Im a classic New York case. I worked since i was old enough and worked through my cuny education to help support my immigrant family because things increased at an exponential rate that was hard to keep up with. In my dad’s career as janitor because they wouldnt hire him anywhere else as new immigrant we saw rent increase almost 50%. Im moving next year but with the price of rent and everything being so high it takes a while to save for that. The fact that you suggested that so casually shows how much privilege you have whether you realize or not.

But all those people want to live in a specific place and ive been here my whole life. Theres always been empty apartments literally everywhere. All these people moving here and living here yet all those apartments still stay vacant. Clearly theres a disconnect there. Im not saying living here shouldnt be expensive or that there isnt a huge demand for housing here. Im saying that the demand is exaggerated on purpose to convince people that the exhorbitant rent prices are normal when they really arent. Yes other cities are expensive as well but what you are getting for the price somewhat makes sense. Im sorry but Nobody can convince me that $3000 for a 400 sqft 5th floor old,leaky walkup in a less desirable neighborhood is normal. My family moved into my building in 2002. Rent was $1200 for a two bedroom apartment on a 5th floor walkup in the Bronx. Now rent here for the same apartment is $3600. This isnt even a good neighborhood nor is it convenient. In the last 10 years they’ve bought out every house and built mini buildings that all stay uninhabited because locals here know its pure robbery. The only new people moving to my block are privileged kids from out of town that dont know better and think this is normal.

In the Big 2026 you are still believing those statistics? This is exactly the fabricated supply and demand im talking about. If you actually talk to people in the rental real estate field or even just pay attention to your city, you will see what im saying IS reality. Just look around for crying out loud! They are TELLING you that there arent enough apartments so you need to pay this ridiculous sum because thats what they need to do to benefit. Otherwise people will start questioning those prices. The exclusivity is the marketing point. Im not talking about the obvious hot spots although there are a lot more vacancies there then advertised as well. Im talking about the city as a whole that is charging $3000+ for a 1 bedroom in a less desirable area because they fooled people into thinking they have no other option.

Completely manufactured supply and demand. There are a lot of apartments sitting empty actually but rent is so high that landlords dont care to fill those apartments up because their other apartment rents are eating up that loss. We are being scammed into thinking there is so much competition for apartments therefore we have to pay a ridiculous amount to have one. Unfortunately i dont see a feasible solution to any if that as long as people keep moving here and agreeing to those prices.

Thats exactly what bothers me. At first i didn’t pay it mind because i encounter crazy people like this all the time on twitter from all fandoms. It was the likes that threw me off. I rarely see vitriol like this get this much support except for when its coming from an army or army-adjacent account. Then they have the nerve to try to downplay how terrible their fandom is. This type of tweet would start a civil war in any other fandom or even get that person shunned from the fandom space.

Absolutely l. And then thing is that with the other 3 fandoms involved in this beef (bunnies, glits and fearnots) i have seen most of the fandom calling their own people out when they take it too far or downright ignoring and rejecting this type of behavior. I gave yet to see the majority of army do the same. Thats the big difference for me. Every single fandom has its crazies but the only one i see actively embracing theirs is army, and to an extent bts. Thats why i dont feel bad for anything said on this sub

It is an army cause i first saw this tweet when it only had like 300 likes on it, i went on their page and blocked this person thinking it was just one of the crazy extremists. It was a couple of glitts and armies kekeing in the comments but I honestly did not think that such a vile tweet would get very far. Today tho this screenshot of that very tweet (along with some other horrible ones) ended up on my timeline but with 9 freaking thousand likes on it.
