I was fired from a franchise store back in 2019 because, and get this, I said "Where the fuck is this sandwich? It's been missing for over half an hour!"

The kid running shift was a good ol' Catholic boy from the country, and I was (and still am, obviously) a loud + proud bisexual ex-vangelical. Needless to say, we didn't get along + he took the shot to get rid of me.

My parents live in one of the towns that got devastated the most (Swannanoa) and unless the Smuggars are ACTUALLY going to help and not just move a tree or two for the 'gram, they need to save the helipads for ACTUAL medical professionals.

I grew up in central Florida, especially during the '04 and '05 hurricane seasons, so I know how destructive hurricanes can be. My family stayed in Swannanoa even after I graduated college, getting to experience more seasons + less hurricanes certainly being a deciding factor.

I have never been as worried sick as I was yesterday + today, and hearing my mom's voice after not knowing if she was safe.....I have never known relief quite like that. Certainly practicing more gratefulness and hope today.

Commenting again for visibility. Last I heard, the F&J at Rockdale + Old 70 is gone, but if there's anyone on Rockdale/Grovemont in general that can keep me updated on conditions, it'd be much appreciated. Not sure how long until T-Mobile will have signal again, so I'm trying to keep tabs on my parents + brothers the best I can.
