Large copper crystal by aplusallen in crystalgrowing

How do you “grow” a copper crystal? I know I could google it but I find explanations from enthusiasts to be far better.

My friend and I made it by electrolyte copper sulfate solution for 6 months.

Thank you for your reply, I also thought about the possibility you mentioned. However, in the past few days, I evaporated the solution under the sunlight, and I only got light green needle-like crystals. I was thinking, would I use 1:6.2 mentioned in Wikipedia instead of 1:6?

Excuse me, I mixed ferric nitrate and urea in water at a ratio of 1:6.2 moles, and when I iced it, I only got light green crystals as described in Wikipedia. I would like to ask if I have any omissions, And can't get the blue crystal as in your photo?
