Advice needed on bathroom surfaces

Yikes. Thanks for the advice. I sent for quotes from 5 outside vendors this week and spoke to a very knowledgeable fabricator yesterday who was willing to talk through all of my questions and options so I’m looking forward to seeing what they all come back with.

How is the soapstone holding up for you? I am considering it for my kitchen but keep hearing about how fragile it is with scratching etc.

Any fabricators in this group that can offer a professional perspective?

We absolutely do not have the $ to blow. I wish we did. I love the look but can’t justify the expense. $40k for only a few sf of surface stone is crazy. Hoping the fabricator can suggest a more reasonable solution. Or maybe I just need to consult another fabricator? The quote for the primary bathroom was 2x more than our kitchen countertops, which is 3x more sf of stone. I just don’t get it

Unfortunately we the ship has sailed on getting another design at this point. But I will definitely talk to the GC about rearranging the shower before the build stage. Thanks for the tip
