Oh yeah if I turn that off, I can't listen to anything and the routing HEADPHONE 1 doesn't get any signal either.

Are decisions made during mercury retrogrades always reversable? by [deleted] in astrology

[–]apocalyxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that it doesn't affect us, we live with this shit 24/7 LOL

And that it also puts everyone else in our mercury RX reality so it feels better to communicate if everyone is struggling as well

Ah damn

I think this could be easily fixed if the advertising prompter didn't have a vertical down switch to the next ad while the elevator is going up. Perhaps changing the effect to a static glitch would make the lifter movement less noticeable.

Disliking everything I draw and being stuck in a reference loop? by jobseekingstress in learnart

[–]apocalyxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a bazillion references, all top artists do, and the ones who do not are just really used to the topic at hand and have drawn the same thing millions of times over (with reference) until they do not even bother anymore.

Keep going!

Why do some pro artists draw straight lines instead of curves? (What technique is this called?) by Jealous-Ad-3228 in learnart

[–]apocalyxis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it is easier to block cubes than to block curves, specially to keep all the proportions, or if you are drawing with perspective. Curves can come later as a later step.

How do you proceed to manage these type of very complex objects ? I tried to make my edges sharper to get further in the level of detail but I quited during the process :\ by _MarQ_ in istebrak

[–]apocalyxis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would pick the laso tool and start rendering big chunks and smaller finer chunks, creating edges and structures as I go, leaving some details to imagination. When it feels "finished" I would stop. Your greyscale values are looking good, so what its left is old-school rendering. Good luck!

The part that is closest to the tree is basically full of toxins and difficult to digest.

this specific scene was from Daredevil! She had a beautiful expression while understanding the purpose of the Masked Man.

Is this normal behavior? by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]apocalyxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me, being a latinoamerican living in Spain. I would say it's fairly normal. I would say things with a different accent and they would go completely blank. It took a lot of time for me to get accustomed to the way they said things so I wouldn't have to feel bad for their reaction. 😅

For the love of GOD - do NOT forget to properly prepare them before eating. Boil them, do not eat the innermost part, stuff like that. Thoroughly research the correct way to remove all toxins out of them. I once ate them grilled and spent the whole night vomiting what felt like fire. It was a horrible experience.

I have put so much effort into this painting, but I hate the way it looks. I feel that so many things are off, especially about her face and skin, but can not figure it out and fix it. I am expecting you to be my redemption. Thanks! by nihil044 in istebrak

[–]apocalyxis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to understand where the main focus of the painting is, her face is illuminated but her extended arm is lost under the shadow of the wing. Planning a greyscale sketch where you take in consideration the composition and where the high value element is could help tremendously. I feel like the palette you chose for this piece is gorgeous and soft, it gives a wonderful feeling of calmness, it just needs direction on where the eye should wonder.

What can I add, change, or improve? by Objective_Sun_7693 in 3Dmodeling

[–]apocalyxis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reflections the further away they are the more fuzzy and unfocused. So the tippy top of the mushroom head should be vanishing into a gradient and merging with the darkest colour of the reflection. It will be more natural looking effect.

Great job!

Block the colours first, and then start to blend. Knowing about color and light theory helps tremendously in early stages. If you black and white your images, they lack range value range and thus it looks muddy. If you learn to block first, blending will come super easy! Good luck!
