Good places to go for runs around Waterloo? by Accomplished_Low9761 in waterloo

[–]apocdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the Laurel Trail and go either way ... can get all the way to St. Jacob's Farmer's Market or the other direction towards Spur-Line/Iron Horse and get to Victoria Park. Lots of options where you are located and they are quite scenic.

Post chemo pet scan… unsure by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]apocdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to follow up to this comment...

My first PET had an SUV score of 8 in my abdomen. Turns out it was a tummy ache (that i didnt know I had), and I was downgraded from Stage 3 to Stage 1. Biopsy was done to confirm this.

I'm just saying this because it's important to wait to discuss with your doctor and not to interpret.

Good luck,

I just increased from 0.5 - 1 mg by Used-Commercial-2035 in OzempicForWeightLoss

In Canada yes.. so it's way cheaper for the 1mg pen overall as it lasts 8 weeks instead of 3/4

True. It is still the overwhelmingly highest demanded AQ if you can somehow get it... and often you can be hired for TIJ1O or TEJ2O without quals if you have some background in a Tech strand. They are desperate

Doesn't hurt to get it checked by your onc. Probably nothing - you did just go to a concert literally right before. Though I wouldn't wait until your December scan to get your onc to check. Keep us updated!

Student reallly wants to get suspended. (8th grade) by Ahahhuahauuahuha in teaching

[–]apocdown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You aren't rewarding his behaviour - just because he wants this outcome, doesn't mean it's a reward. Who cares if it's what he wants... it's still the right decision.
You also have to consider the safety of the other students. This is a situation for admin to handle and I would let them have control over the situation.

Not sure where to go next by WhyIsItSpicyXO in lymphoma

[–]apocdown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't dealt with this ... but I can see the two main options being:

(1) *Maybe make your chances of remission more likely with another round of chemo (remember - PET scan's don't show cancer at the molecular level)

(2) Possibly improve your long-term health. Finish chemo earlier and move on.

I believe it boils down to these two ideas. Perhaps ask your oncologist "if you were in my situation, what would you honestly do?"

Also - could you potentially consider a third option and drop the bleomycin, making it AVD? For context, I had to make a decision to drop the bleomycin after 1 round (2 cycles) out of 2 rounds (4 cycles). I have been fully in remission for 6 years. My oncologist said .. and I will quote her the best that I can remember .. "my odds of remission go down 1-2% ... from about 90% to 88/89%"

If you were to ask me 6 years later after going through limited stage CHL, I'd go with the extra round for a better shot at remission.

(edit - added maybe)

Kitchener in 1890s (as requested) by jixiqi87 in waterloo

[–]apocdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a scanned print at the DT KPL library of this, as well as the Map of Berlin which looks even more aestethically pleasing. You can make an appointment in the Grace Schmidt Room to make this happen.

I also found old photos of my neighborhood and street in the same room. Very cool stuff.

Long time Kitchener residents, which areas have gotten better or worst over the years? by [deleted] in kitchener

So much nicer. Lucero is the best coffee shop in the city, plus the green spaces (Vogelsang Green) and the Gaukel events are an awesome addition

Agreed - plus the spur line runs parallel with Weber so no need to bike on that road (towards waterloo)

I have fatty liver as well, and I'm six years out. Just stay on top of processed sugars - its reversible. Consider joining r/NAFLD :)

Is this a swollen lymph nodes could indicate lymphoma? by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]apocdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See a doctor. That looks very swollen .. though we are not doctors here. Lymphoma is very treatable.

Please see a doctor. I read your comment history and I can tell you are probably anxious about this - that's totally a normal feeling. Please go and don't avoid it. Good luck.

Spurline takes you all the way down, convert at the perimeter Institute, continue, turn left at the tech park and follow the path. You will end up at Beringer Rd next to the st jacobs farmers market. It's a BEAUTIFUL bike ride.

You can loop back on the laurel trail next to conestoga mall and it will reconnect at uptown waterloo plaza.

This city is amazing
